OK, I kind of expected that :)
We did a KB on how to deactivate, so you can guess what is coming I think. Check this KB Article on how to re-activate :)
Once the PC shows up again in the Console (You might need to run a scan before it shows up), you might want to make sure that you set the Console for User Configuration. Just click the PC in PC Security, and at the bottom is where you will set that.
I also would open WSA and go into Advanced Options.

- Check your install options to make sure that it will show up in the Control Panel and the Start Menu
- Check the Access Control and allow NON admin users to make changes and uninstall (If you are the only person who uses the computer). This will keep you from having the same issue again.

- Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
- KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
- Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
- Uninstall WSA and Reboot
- Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
- Let it finish it's install scan
- Reboot once again
Thanks,

?, Lyle, if the Console command to deactivate works, there will be no need of a Trouble Ticket. I think the OP should give the commands a try first... Trouble Ticket after if that also fails. (Usually I think the Console Command will fire and execute without the need of Admin permission by the user, but we will see.)

Hello palanuk...........................we sure do want to talk to you, our apologies, and welcome to the HELP forums. Yes, that is expected. As noted previously, if WSA is already installed then the download can't install as it is already installed.@ wrote:
I right clicked the Webroot icon in my Download File and clicked on "Run As Administrator" and nothing happened.
Try to follow the directions in this KB Article regarding how to deactivate a PC. If you are able to access the Console and follow the directions, please reboot the computer when you are done.
See if that will remove WSA so that we can then get it re-installed.
WOOT!!
Glad that we finally have something for you!
Now, there is another step sadly. Since you deactivated the Computer, it might NOT show up on the Console. Check it, and if you do not see it we can Re-Activate it to restore the Console functions :)

Fantastic job, David. That was quite a group effort that worked out beautifully in the end. Of course, she still has a little work to do but under your patient guidance, I am confident she will pull through. So glad to know ya!!@ wrote:

?,
Members that are Expert Advisor and above are able to apply the Solution credit. Usually we do NOT do it ourselves, as we prefer to wait for the OP to verify that a suggestion worked and to reply back such. Often the OP will mark the solution, but in this case since the OP replied that things are fixed I marked it.
Really the solution is TEAMWORK. I had to know the questions and replies that everyone else before me had asked in order to get to my suggestion LOL. Mine might have been the 'final solution" but it was a combined effort!
Hi David,Theresa,
This has been marked as the solution. Big Congratulations!! Question:how does a solution get found and who designates it? You spent a lot of time and effort on this post and I am so glad that you got the solution. I knew you could! Bravo.
Theresa

Edit: I see ? beat me to it 🙂 I'll leave this for reference.
Apparently the file did not download correctly. Please choose correct version.
Download (PC)
Download (Best Buy Subscription)
Once the file downloads you will click on it. It's called "wsainstall.exe"
Have your 20 digit key code ready.
Please let us know how you do,
BD

There should be no need to run the installer under Admin rights, that is only of use/required when running the command line uninstaller, although it would not run to run the installler in that mode.
I am with BD in that it sounds like that download was not successful and that it is best to redownload from one of the recommeded sites, and then try again.

Usually on a Windows computer it is set up so that there is a user that is an Administrator user. Is your Windows profile the only one on the computer, or is there another profile?

Yes, I did check it and it does not show up on the Console.
? ?You guys crack me up. This is like watching a Marx Brothers movie. Remember the one where they kept opening and closing doors!! It was hysterical, just like reading these posts!:D
Well Theresa...as you can see we do have fun on here with our postings! LOLs And you crack me up as well!!:D
Hi @ ,
Could you try and right click the downloaded icon and select "run as administrator"?
That should get it started. Please write back if that fails also.
Thanks,
Theresa

I have downloaded it 6 times with the same results. I downloaded it and right clicked to run as the administrator...same thing.
Many thanks,

I think ? is right, you may need to uninstall before the download will work. If there is a version of WSA already installed, the install download will either simply open the program, or do nothing at all.
If you are not able to find Webroot in the Control Panel, Programs and Features to uninstall it, please let us know.

Do you have the Webroot icon in your task bar? If so RightClick it and select Shutdown Protection. Then try Uninstall again???
? Oh.. so you did! I know I tried to mark it.. you must have beaten me by just a second or two LOL! (The email does show you are the winner!)
