Webroot Mac Security / PC Security, Does Coverage Work The Same?

Webroot on a PC computer from what I understand is 100% Cloud Based. The PC's also have the Journaling RollBack feature. The PC computers have a continuous Webroot Log. One can reboot a PC and the log is still available with all the information from before reboot. I realize that the Mac computer runs totally different but does Webroot protects both computers the same way. On a Mac computer running Webroot: Is Webroot 100% Cloud Based? Is there a Journaling RollBack feature if the Mac gets infected? Why does the Mac have Webroot Definitions? Is there Firewall Protection like on the PC? Also noticed that when the Mac is rebooted Webroot's log is wiped clean. Doesn't the Webroot log have something to do with Journaling? @PVaddi @MacDaddy385

WEBROOT hangs when installing on a MAC os 10 machine

I'm a PC guy, but my son's Girlfriend found a weird take-over web browser virus and I wanted to see if the WEBROOT product worked as well on her system as the 100+ I have running on windows systems... After downloading the program and (figuring out how to install the bloody thing) we entered the keys, and the splash screen says it's loading but it just sits there after she enters her MAC password, nothing happens. Tried 3 times. It just sits there like nothing is happening... What did I do wrong????

Mac version finding virus on win10 parallels, win10 version doesn't find virus

Running on a 2016 macbook pro, running Windows 10 in a Parallels VM When I run a scan on the win10 VM, it say's everything is clean When I shut down Win10 VM and run scan on Mac, it says everything is clean When I start up the Win10 VM and run scan on Mac, it finds viruses on Win10 volume. All of the files are .mui extension files. My questions are: Are these false alarms? If not, can I trust Webroot for Windows to find viruses? s.

We root won’t start scan.

We root won’t run scan since update on Mac mini . Upgraded to MacOShigh Sierra 10.13.6 . Will I have to uninstall webroot and reinstall from the cd , to fix problem?

Little Snitch and Webroot conflicts?

I have used Webroot for a number of years and have also used Little Snitch -- seemingly without major issues for a couple of years. The latest iteration of Little Snitch applied new rules to Webroot and blocked the ability of Webroot monitor incoming or outgoing data. In addition, it put a heavy load on my iMac. Has anyone else had this experience? Once I uninstalled and removed all traces of Little Snitch, Webroot began to work properly again and my computer speeded up considerably.

I'm trying to renew my license for my MAC - have the keycode - but won't let me put it in and still says subscription expired when I turn on computer - so frustrated! HELP

Wait time for support response

How long should I expect to wait for a response to my question? I posted my question Friday evening because Webroot is preventing my new MacBook Pro from being usable. My question was acknowledged but no response arrived by Monday evening so I went to the Community Forum. I had to create a new account for that purpose because my user name and password was not recognized. I received a reply suggesting that I post my question to Webroot Support but warning not to ask the same question again or it would go to the end of the line. (Incidentally, I had to create a new account this morning for the purpose of being able to post this question.) My experience with Webroot and inability to get any meaningful response is beginning to take on a nightmarish quality.

Webroot problems on MacBook Pro

I purchased five licenses and have used only three. I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro and migrated everything from my 2015 MacBook Pro (now intended to serve as a spare) to the new one with the help of an Apple specialist. Turns out that Webroot does not want to work on the new machine and, instead of asking me for a code or new license, or simply standing down, it generates a never-ending dialog box loop that renders my new MacBook Pro useless. I asked Webroot for help last Friday, because I would have liked to use my new machine this weekend, but there is no way to connect with a human over the telephone, and no live chat seems to be offered. So far I have gotten no response. I tried to log-in to this community tonight using the name and password I saved on 1Password when I first purchased Webroot, and was told I entered an invalid user name or password. So I created a new account for this purpose. Question: how do I get Webroot either to work on my new Mac or go away? I

No Definition Updates On Weekends and Holidays?

For the last month I've been watching and keeping track of the "Definition Updates" on WSA for Mac and I have noticed that the definitions do not update on the weekends or holidays. For example: 12/21/18 the definition was: 1043 12/26/18 the definition was: 1044 12/31/18 the definition was: 1047 01/02/19 the definition was: 1048 Friday 01/11/19 the definition was and still is today at the time of this post 01/14/19: 1055 Is there a reason there are no updates on the weekend or holidays but there is an update every day during the week? @MacDaddy385 @PVaddi @LLiddell

Is Webroot Ready For macOS Mojave?

Next week Apple will release the Upgrade on Mac's to Mojave. Is Webroot Ready? @ @ macOS Mojave Upgrdae info: https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/macos-10-14/   Apple will be releasing macOS Mojave soon, maybe next week. I have a few questions about Webroot and macOS Mojave.   1. Is Webroot ready for the new upgrade in WSA Release and Beta? 2. With the new Security Features in Safari will Password Manager work in all browsers? 3. When upgrading to Mojave do we keep WSA installed or would it be better to uninstall, upgrade then reinstall? 4. If we keep WSA installed during the upgrade, what Version of WSA do we need before upgrading to Mojave, or does it matter? 5. Will we see the Webroot Filter icon in Safari like we see the P/W manager icon? Right now there is no Webroot Filter icon showing in Safari.   If anyone has anymore questions to add, please do so. Failed install wrote 100 (or so) Gigs to hard drive

Hours ago I tried to install a new activation key to webroot anti-virus for the mac. I entered the activation key, then every few minutes I got an error message telling me that webroot crashed. I later learned that with every crash huge amounts of data were written to my hard drive. I'm guessing that over 100 Gigs got written before I was able to get the problem fixed. How do I locate and remove all of this data?

Can't do a Fresh Install on Mac Mojave

I have a new iMac (MacOS 10.14.2) and downloaded the "wsamac" installer from the Webroot website. When double-clicking on the "Webroot SecureAnywhere" installer, the app tries to launch (I get the "bouncing ball" on the dock) but never opens.  I then get an error message: "Webroot SecureAnywhere quit unexpectedly".  This happens repeatedly.  Any suggestions?   Thanks in advance!

Webroot missed Trojan:O97M/Sonbokli.A!cl - which then infected client computers

Just a heads up, my business email account suspiciously sent out numerous emails yesterday morning to clients with a Word doc attachment.  The attachment contained the above mentioned trojan which also goes by:   W97M.POWLOAD.NSFGAICR, or W97M.Downloader   Specific details here: https://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/au/threat-encyclopedia/malware/trojan.w97m.powload.nsfgaicr   Webroot did not catch this on my system during numerous system scans on multiple devices.  I had to reinstall my OS for other reasons (the wonders of Bootcamp), so subsequent scans with Webroot, Trend Micro and Windows Defender are clean.  But by then the damage was done.  The source was Russia, and by then they had the email password and access to my account, which means they knew who I'd been recently communicating with.   Malicious emails were sent to people I'd had recent conversations with, some of who were expecting documentation from me, so they assumed the attachment was

Scan Time Increase With macOS Mojave

I have Upgraded to macOS Mojave and have noticed that the first scan during install of WSA has increased. Before upgrading from High Sierra to Mojave, I uninstalled WSA. After the upgrade I did a clean install of WSA on Mojave. The first scan with Mojave was over 27 minutes. Here are my first scans with: El Capitan: 9 to 11 minutes High Sierra: 10 to 12 minutes Mojave: 27:15 minutes.     Is this going to be the new normal for the first scan?

Filtering Extension Safari

Hello!   Just noticed I don't have the Webroot Filtering Extension on Safari any longer. Can't find it in the extension menu neither, just gone...? And on Chrome it only shows for the subpages for a website in the serachresults on Google (see image).         I've checked updates for Safari, Chrome and Webroot, but everything seems to be in their latest update. This happend when I switched over to macOS Mojave version 10.14.   Anyone experiencing the same problem?   Thanks in advance.

Custom Scan - Macintosh

New Webroot user here. I'm trying to figure out how to perform a custom scan using the Macintosh version of Webroot SecureAnywhere Version 9.0.8.34: 986.   Most of the directions I find on the web and this forum address using custom scan with the Windows version of the software. Any directions or insight on how to perform a custom scna with the Mac version would be greatly appreciated.

updated Safari 12 password extension (WSAC 9.0.8.34:966) fails on MBP 10.13.6

Just updated HiSierra Safari v12 and  WSAC's Password Mangler extention not unsurprisingly appears not (yet) to be updated with "Safe" credentials.  Not yet time to explore further (or flag support) as I'm sure others will be commenting if they haven't already. 😉.    Still checking Safari/WSAC for IOS12 update on iPad.....

LARGE Backup & Sync log causes long-running Time Machine backups and hammers Mac (can't disable it)

To all the Time Machine users out there, you REALLY want to exclude the file "/Users/{YourUserName}/Library/Application Support/Webroot/BackNSync/log-BnS-FE.txt" from your backups.   To the Webroot developers: PLEASE a) provide a way to disable "Backup & Sync" on the Mac, and/or b) use log rotation for your logging.   Background:   I've been fighting a problem for MANY weeks where my Mac seems to always be running hot, fans always continuously on, CPUs almost pinned. I was actually starting to research getting a new laptop because this one really wasn't usable anymore - _something_ was just killing it too badly.   I finally traced a big part of the problem to Time Machine, but why was Time Machine backing up 160+ MB of changes every hour, even in the middle of the night when I'm wasn't using the machine, and hadn't used the machine for days? And because my Time Machine backup goes over a wireless network, over a PowerLAN bridge, to a Synology NAS, that 160

Webroot software won't scan

So I renewed my Webroot subscription and everytime it attempts to scan now, it tells me it can't connect to the server.  I had a tech go through my computer and clean it too, just in case something in my system was blocking the softwares ability to scan (yes, I have a paid subscription for that).  I already submitted a support ticket, but is anyone else having a similar issue?

App Store is super slow

Hi, hope you are all having a great Saturday!   I'm reaching out to see if there are any other Mac users out there that is experiencing App Store loading really, really slow atm...?   I've cleared App Stores cache with help from all different guides with no success. Anyone who knows what may cause this issue? Since Webroot caused my Photoshop to not work properly (which I've got help with) I'm now starting to be suspicious if it is Webroot again that is preventing my App Store to not work as it should? I'm doubtful though, but as I can't find any help about this issue anywhere else, this post is my last hope!   Thanks in advance folks.

Troubleshooting with photoshop

Hello everyone!   I've been using Webroot for Mac a little more than a week now. I've noticed small issues with my Photoshop, like shortcuts that does not seem to work anymore. I tried everything in this article:   https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-stop-photoshop-mac.html   Unfortunately it didn't help. I then noticed that they have actually mentioned Webroot in the article as one utilitie that might cause this issue. With that being said, they re-direct to Webroot support; "Contact Webroot for troubleshooting or any available updates".   Anyone who have had this problem and/or might know the solution? Why can't the polling interval be changed on Macs?

What is the difference between Mac and Windows which disallows the polling interval less than 24 hours on the Mac? Is there a solution or hack that can be applied to a machine to allow the polling time to be less on a Mac?
