Anybody experiencing this 'featurette'. Uncheck the 'Scan on boot up if computer....' option under the Scan Schedule tabs in Settings, and then check on it after a reboot or the following morning (when you would usually have rebooted if you switch your PC off overnight). Does anybody find that the option has somehow gotten itself rechecked, ie, it is ON again? Have just noticed this (but to be fair have had some issues with this option before & uninstalled completely and reinstalled to try to resolve it.) Be interested to see if this is happening to anyone. Am running latest build .193. Regards Balders
I've been using WSA Plus 2013 for about 2 weeks now and I'm very impressed with the program. That said, I'm attempting to save my custom settings and have had no luck with it. When I click "Export Settings" button nothing happens. Just for the heck of it I clicked on "Import Settings" button even though I have nothing to import. It requested a captcha entry. I filled in the entry successfully and then tried to click "Export Settings" button again but no response. Any thoughts? I looked on the forum to see if others reported an issue but could not find a post on the subject. Thanks in advance....
Hi, I've been a long time Webroot customer and I'm now considering an upgrade to PLUS or COMPLETE, but I cannot find detailed information on specifically password protection. Reason I want password protection so bad (and why I'm looking at other products like Lastpass, Roboform...) is that my email / credit cards were hacked last week. All is fixed now but as a result, I was brutally made aware of the "new world" we live in... With no fault at all to Webroot - just some careless password creation on me and my familie's part , and not having changed paswords for years - but I am now looking for an efficient and secure way to create/edit/change passwords regularly (it seems to be the key to not being hacked..?). Long story short, I get how it works locally on a "secured machine", but what if I log on to a work or public computer? Do I have access to the webroot password protection program or is there an accessable online portal where I can retrieve a given pass
Having tried several security programs, I installed the trial version of WSA, although I'm not sure exactly which variant. This morning, I tried to enter http://www.cyprus-mail.com/ and got the following message This surprised me because it is a site I've trusted for years, without problems. I therefore tried a few malware web detectors and they all said there was no malware. Consequently, I tried to click on 'Allow' ad it said to the effect that I had no right to allow it and to consult Admin. I tried to open WSA and it refused to let me, I had to consult Admin (which I am). WSA seems to be a good system with a lot of advantages but, if this kind of obstacle is thrown up, I don't know whether it is what I need for my 3 computers. If I do decide to purchase it, I'm not sure how to go about this in view of the fact that I haven't a clue as to which version I currently have on this machine.
I just got a message saying that I the Web Console will over-ride my local SecureAnywhere settings. Is there a way that I can manage SecureAnywhere locally only? I don't like the feeling that someone can manage my machine through a web-based account. Or maybe I am not understanding this correctly? I just want to manage my machine locally only.
I have some work files that SecureAnywhere always mistakes for viruses or conflicts with my programs. Is there a way to disable SecureAnywhere at startup? For example, Mcafee gives you the abiltiy to disable at startup. But, I don't see this for SecureAnywhere. I could un-install SecureAnywhere, or disable it entirely, but I don't want to do that. If I un-install it, then I will never install it again and ask for a refund. It's very frustrating. Where can I find the option to disable SecureAnywhere at Start-up? Please help me with this. I want to keep SecureAnywhere, but if you don't have a feature so I can stop it from auto-booting, then I just want to get rid of it.
Hello to all, One question about something that's unclear to me : When WSA is installed, I activate it on my web panel. What's the use of activate it (vs not) and specifically what's the use vs the other state with the earth logo behind the PC. I ask because I installed WSA and when changing settings (euristics) it said that these changes will be overridden by the web panel settings. But at this point I only "secured" the PC (i.e. putting it on my PC's list on the web panel) ... Then I saw that there were these options of secure strenght etc. (with the earth). So, if it's my main machine and I wannt to set everything from it (and not from web panel) what should I do ? I'm sure it's simple but I don't see the point (mainly with the "simple" secure process) Thansk for your help
Hello, On a Win 8 PC, I have a "live" SkyDrive folder (i.e. a commond Windows folder always connectet to the Cloud - SkyDrive in that case). What is the best way (except deconnection) to secure the folder with WSA ? I've tought about entering a "protected URL" just like for critical websites access, but as a folde there's no real URL The same with MS OneNote which is permanently connected too. Any idea ? Thanks !
i am highly frustrated with webroot's support structure. this is a simple question, yet the responses i get back from cust support are cyclical and point me back to where i cannot get into...... i cannot get past the login screen and yet Ii have set up all the accounts that were given me on this iphone app. i need cust assistance to look at my account. another thing that makes no sence is the console name. i seem to have 2. one is expired and one is current. why is the expired one still listed if it is expired?? Why do the scan dates and days remaining differ from my user console and Webroot PC Security? How do I submit a log file as I have an unusual number of [u]'s present?
Dear Sir or Madam: Due to a mix up at Best Buy, we were given new version of Webroot Secure Anywhere; the first, activated on 02/21/2013, version's Key Code subscription was changed from active to expired, and the new one's Key Code was activated today, 03/06/2013. The problem we are encountering is the Password function does not work when attempting to access it using the web console: https://my.webrootanywhere.com/home.aspx We now have 2 web consoles, and both have show same message saying: "Password: Your keycode has now expired. To continue accessing Passwords please renew your keycode otherwise your data may be lost." If you click the Password button on the tool bar, from either console, you get a grey screen and the following error message: "The page could not be accessed. Please try again later." Note, the original Key Code activated on 02/21/2013 shows 1 expired key code. Can someone please assist in untangling this mess for us. Thanks M
says 2 codec-v files found on my computer and 1 9c5e.tmp file are threats that have been removed from my computer but they keep showing up in a new virus scan... i blocked them under the detection config and firewall network apps section in webroot... how do i remove these files because webroot is not removing the problem... it is as if it is respawning... it has severely slowed my web browsing activities such as pages loading and my computer doesnt start as fast now... thanks in advance
Hello, I have done all of my usual stuff to get rid of virus', adware, and spyware and this is attached to me outlook. It causes it to crash when I am checking my mail, popping up when i click on certain spam, which i am guessing is being sent form this site, and then causing my outlook to crash. I can't even attempt to deleate it as it causes the crash. I have read about this and see that windows defender is suppose to get rid of it but it will not run, I am guessing because of a conflict with Webroot. I turned of Webroot and defender will still not run. Can someone please help me, it's driving me nuts! Thanks.
Last Friday I reinstalled WSA. I had to reinstall NIS2012 so I rather reinstalled WSA then. Since then no scans are recorded on my Webroot account. The last scan recorded is 17/8 however another 4 or 5 scans already passed. As for the android WSA no problems experienced, all definition updates and scans are correctly reported on the account. 1) Every so often I get a message in red which says "An error occurred while attempting to contact the server. Please check your Internet connection. error=10 reason=xmlhtperror" It doesn't affect anything, and I just close the message by clicking on the X. 2) Also, I have Windows 8 with Internet Explorer. When using the Desktop to surf the net (IE9), Webroot Password Manager works fine; but when using IE10 from the new Start page, the Password Manager doesn't even show up. Is there a way to get it to work?
