I've been reading the articles and I kept asking if Webroot was one of the companies. I kept getting a scripted response from Webroot saying something along the lines of "Webroot is aware of the alleged attacks, and we have no evidence of a compromise to our business. Security is at the core of what we do, and we have a dedicated internal information security team and robust processes and procedures to safeguard the company, our products and our data."

Just found out it was Symantec (Norton), Trend Micro, and McAfee - https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/fxmsp-chat-logs-reveal-the-hacked-antivirus-vendors-avs-respond/

Yes but no Confirmation from them!

"We have an active investigation underway related to recent claims."

"We’ve taken necessary steps to monitor for and investigate it."

The statements from the companies are there. I'm really just glad Webroot wasn't one of the companies, which should be the biggest takeaway from this post 🙂
