Webroot use to have a product called Window Washer. Is it still available?

Hp pavillion 20 that originally came with windows 8.0 Upgraded this year to windows 10 bought Webroot anti-rootkit and installed at time of purchase severall years ago. after Webroot 2 year?? liscense expired, uninstalled it using avast anivirus since then Today popup asked for permission to install webroot ?? something without thinking harder, clicked allow. we do not have a webroot membership, or subscription. Avast advised uninstalling second antivirus program..was not compatible with it. uninstalled it but have no idea why it came to this computer in the first place. want to remove all registry entries to make sure it's gone, as some reported infected unauthirized versions in internet. Ideas??  

Hello, in my older computer, whenever i ran the windows washer it would clean the browsing history, cookies etc from my google chrome browser. In my new computer the washer works fine, except it doesnt clean google chrome. Is there a way of changing the settings or adding chrome to the washers' search?   Thanks again for your time, Tom  

I get this message when I try to uninstall Spysweeper.  I tried several uninstall programs without luck.     "C:Program FilesWebrootSpy Sweeperunins000.dat'   How can I uninstall Spy Sweeper??

Hello: I have been using Webroot for a couple of years with WIN-7, but recently I switched to WIN-8. I began getting messages stating that Webroot Spy Sweeper was incompatible with WIN-8 and should be removed, but the usual uninstall program does not work. How can I uninstall it? webroot weeded out  trovi a pain that will not allow me to go to my msn home page.  After deleating the program and rebooting it just comes back.  I did run it in safe mode as well, nothing seems to work.  I am using the purchased webroot for 3 pc.   Any suggestions?

Hi, I am wanting to sell my pc which has windows 7 as the operting system. In the past I used a product called window washer to clean the hard drive prior to sale. Is there a product available to purchase which will perform this task. I have been a victim of internet fraud in the past and I would like to be reassured that all my financial transactons and banking/credit card details will be wiped clean before I sell.   thank you

I am getting a new computer and I have this disk from 2010. Can I use it. Nowhere does it mention win 8. Go on line and download?? Will it bring my previous data with it??

A few years ago I had a disk eraser utility on a 3.5" disk that I could use to completely erase a hard drive. I want to completely erase the "C" drive on another computer that has problems so I can do a clean install of Windows 7. Is this utility still available?

Hi there.  Just a quick question...   I had your program, Window Washer, on my computer and really liked it.   The computer crashed  :womanfrustrated: and had to be taken in and repaired.  When I went to put Window Washer back on, I found the disk had a crack in it.  It won't run.  I came here to your site and couldn't find Window Washer.   Is it no longer available?  Thanks.   Sue  :cathappy:

By process of elimination I determined that Windows Washer is deleting all of my cookies.  Obviously this is a problem.  I tried to run Cookie Keeper to fix the problem.  However Cookie Keeper never finishes building the list of cookies!  Help!

Spy Sweeper keeps detecting and removing object malware.cloud.dd. Webroot ids it as Adware.   What is malware.cloud.dd?   I cannot find out anything about it anywhwere on-line.   Is it dangerous; should I be concerned?       Thanks, Mike

I've had spysweeper that expired a couple years ago but I'm afraid to get rid of the program because I never emptied the quarantine and now the program doesn't even open anymore.  Anyway, I'm afraid to uninstall webroot because the quarantine has a few viruses and I don't want them released. Is it safe to uninstall webroot without clearing the quarantine first?

I know that's older product, but alsp and freeware,so I would use it on own risk. I see that Webroot still allow downloading of that product, but I didn't see where I can get code. I just want to try it because in my home, for personal usage and want to see which firewall solution is best for me. So if you can help. Regards

client called today said he read online somewhere that the older spy sweeper can be updated to use his lic somehow in wsa? i toldhim i was not sure but i would find out for him he will come in for me to do this if in fact it is true. and if it is which version would it go to or is this totally false? i do not know where he read that as i did not ask i thought it easier to simply ask so i know what to tell him. thank you!

Is it possible to upgrade to WSA on the same licence as webroot 2011 but not remove webroot 2011? It would be great to know as I like the features of both.

Here's what I need from my security suite: It must be able to detect malware in downloaded/downloading files, in incoming email attachments and in malicious URL links.  I use IMAP and IMAP-SSL mail systems. It must, within acceptable tolerances, be able to block/quarantine the detected threat(s) before they take up residence on my machine. Since no malware defense system is 100% effective, it must be able to remove any infections that slip through. It must be able to defend itself from malware that attempts to disable or remove it. It must prevent further damage by refusing to allow malware (that was not detected, blocked or removed) to "phone home".Here's what I don't need: I don't need a spam blocker.  My ISP and my email client do a decent job of that already.
