Big issue with forced browser extension installs - lost all my tabs again

What is the current state of the extensions?  If they are installed, with Chrome usually if you manually disable, and then remove them, Chrome will usually actively block that extension from installing again in the future.

Hi, I think this is not corret.. if I uninstall the extension then it's even worse.. so I have it installed, but disabled.
 
As I said that behaviour from Webroot is rude and invasive... I remember always having trouble with it and the extension doesn't work in Chrome anyway because of a conflict with some other extension... I really don't want / need them. There should be an option to leave me alone!

I would suggest that you file a Trouble Ticket and let Webroot Support, for a couple of reasons.
 
First, the extensions are working correctly without causing problems for a majority of users, so the problem would not be considered 'global': it would be local to your computer and thus most likely the problem can be fixed.
 
Secondly, if there really is an conflict issue with other extensions, it is possible that there might be what we refer to as a PUA (Potentially Unwanted Application) also present within the browser extensions.  Webroot Support can take a look and advise you with anything that is found.

I don't have any PUAs among my extensions...
 
I think I'll switch to another product because this one is too invasive... I now see I'm not the only ony who doesn't agree with this philosophy.

Sorry to hear that you feel this way and agrieved as a result.  But if I may, just before you leave use, I would like to caution about what you term 'invasiveness'...IMHO WSA is one of the least invasive of type category of application.  
 
I have tried a number and in terms of problems encountered when uninstalling most of these apps (to me just one of the indicators of invasiveness) WSA is a comparative saint...as witnessed by the ease with which other users use the uninstall approach to rectify some issues caused by a possible faulty install.
 
In addition, Webroot is one of the few AV/IS producer to not offer or make available a tool to help unistall or clean up after uninstall!
 
My intervention is not to persuade you to rethink your move away but rather to be cautuous as to what you decide on your system as a replacement.

Maybe true for other aspects but this extension handling is deplorable.
 
I've written to support, linking this thread and if they implement the option to completelly turn off any attempt to do anything to my browsers, then I will consider coming back... but in the meantime I'm exploring other solutions because in fact I have not tested any before... seems like in total there are 3 or 4 good candidates.
