Recently when I am in Google Chrome and when I go to log into a site or even search I get "Waiting for extension Webroot Filtering Extension".  It seems to have slowed Google Chrome down, I didn't receive this message in the past and would like to know how to fix this.  I use Google Chrome to do my college course work.  Please help.

Hello Badger, welcome to the Community!

I have also seen that more often recently, but I have found that when it is showing it has been due to a slow or weak WIFi connection.  Re-booting my router has taken care of the issue for me when I see it.

That being said, I HAVE seen several other threads commenting on this recently.  If rebooting your router does not help, I would like you to submit a Trouble Ticket to have Webroot Support take a look and document the problem.

EDIT: Have you also tried IE or Firefox to see if you have the problem on those browsers as well?

Hello Badger,

Welcome to the Community!

Do you have the latest Webroot Extension?

To reinstall the new extension put the old one in the trash and install Webroot Extension for Chrome Here.

You can go to the Menu in right hand corner/Settings/Extenstions/

Please let us know if you need more help!

I did reset my router, though I am connected directly and not using wireless.  I am not having this issue with IE or Firefox.  Must be something with Chrome.  Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the reply!

It could be something with Chrome or the Chrome extension.  As I said, I have seen it myself, but it is very much an on and off thing... most of the time I do not have the issue at all.

Please do go ahead and get that Trouble Ticket filed.  IF it is a problem in the Chrome extension, that will give Webroot Dev's more data to work with to correct the problem.

In my case I solved the problem by uninstalling the Beta version of Chrome that I was using and installed the latest
version - non Beta - 43.0.2357.65

Hi guitarjam

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Ah, well what can I say other than that is the 'danger' with running beta versions of software...as that is why they are labelled as 'beta'. ;)
