Recently Acronis 2015 backup performance on all my pc's slows to a crawl if WR is running. I know how to disable WR from system tray {windows 8.1 64bit) but WR seems to enable itself an hour or so later, before the backup is complete.
is there a command line to disable and enable so i can have Acronis execute those commands?
Please right-click the Webroot icon on your taskbar and select "Control Active Processes" and see if Acronis is under Monitored status. If so, and you are certian that it is running perfectly fine and is from a reputable source, select "Allow".
Run the backup again and see if that corrects the issue.

The two Acronis processes shown in that window you referred me to, were already marked "allow". So some other Acronis process? What it "feels like" is that webroot is scanning every single file that is getting backed up.

Did you also check if any of Acronis files, especially those executable, are not being blocked or monitored in the PC Security Panel (in the Allow/Block Files tab)?
If there are no Acronis files you can try manually add the Acronis folder to this section and mark all its components as allowed.
I was using Acronis with WSA a long time ago and I didn't notice any issues or slowdowns, even while doing full system images.
In my opinion the only reason that WSA can slowdown Acronis activity may result from the fact that the files you want to backup are being classified by Webroot as "unknown" - but this is only my loose thought.
You can simply check it by saving the scan logs and looking for a number of components marked with "[u]".
At present I do my backups with Macrium software and WSA doesn't bother in any of its activity - the full backup of Windows, installed software and my private files is made very fast.

Turns out Acronis tech and I were both wrong blaming WR.
Bad coincidence that each time we tested by disabling WR, the backup route I took had hardware problems: a poratble sata hard drive that was faliing in one case, and a bad network cable to a NAS backup device. No idea why temporarily disabling WR would temporarily speed up the backup to those faulty devices, but it did.
Bottom line, WR is not conflicting with Acronis. Thank you for the tips about processes. Will come in handy in the future I'm sure.
