Webroot Console

I'm just going through my annual thrash, that is renewing a 3 seat WSA AV. The other 2 seats are far and wide (daughters) so bear with me.
This time round I enabled the console & had a nightmare of a time, you try getting daughters to fire up machines when you want them to.
Anyway, it is still not complete but I have hopes for the next day or so.
Question! I noticed that whilst I have a 3 seat license I could have 4 showing in the console.

There was a combination of causes here, one of which was one daughter buying a new laptop, informing me that she had 'moved the license' to the new laptop. She had not uninstalled from the old PC. Uninstall & delete from console. OK.

The other issue was due to the other laptop having 3 users (accounts). 1st is the Admin, 2nd is the power user (daughter), 3rd is granddaughter. It is the last one that is actually in use (daily)
In this case I again saw 4 Machines in the console.
The first one was a simple error! ho-hum.
The second makes me ask for some info about the Console.
If I have a 3 seat license shouldn't I be notified if the limit is exceeded.
If my granddaughter is showing in the console & I ask the Admin to login & then ask my daughter to login what happens to the number of seats showing. After all the PC is just a name.
Hope you can make sense of this.
David

@,

I'd be happy to shed some light on this for you.

Basically within the console you should only see active computers. Having multiple users on one computer should not add any additional listings in the console.

I was able to locate your account but I am only seeing 3 computers Active, and then one that was deactivated on May 24th.

I cannot go into the specific details but once you go over your license by a certain number of seats you will receive a notification that you are over your limit.

I hope this answers your question and if you have any others or I can explain something better, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thank you,
The deactivated one is mentioned in my post, so no issue there although there was 'cos it was a PC I'd built some years ago and passed on to a daughter. It had my name!! - problem. I had to do a scan here for identification. Then I knew which one to delete.

The one called K*** is the problem. It was not showing up until I phoned and asked her to do a scan. She is the 'power user'.
The real user on that laptop is my 16 yr old granddaghter, and she is the one I have to watch out for. But that account does not show.
From the sound of it I should ask the other accounts to log on and do a scan so I can identify them.
I must admit that although I have been using WSA for some years (PrevX before too) I have only just used the Console.
I'll get there.

David,

When a scan is run it forces Webroot to touch base with the server.

Her PC should show up at all times though, not just after running a scan.

If it is showing now, I would just say to keep an eye on it to see if it disappears again, and if it does I would consider creating a support ticket because that should not be happening.

My Console is now showing the correct PCs, great.
My Console is, however, not showing the new keycode with the increased time (days)
It is showing the old keycode with zero days.
I updated my PC yesterday, so whilst I accept a delay on the 2 PCs done today I expected my PC to have been updated by now.

Now I have a problem.
My PCs are showing as licensed (400 days)
My Console has defaulted to buy/renew, ie: expired.

Ok, I think I've got it now. What a palaver.
I had to add a new keycode in the Console.
The PCs still showed expired so I guess the next scans will be picked up & the keycodes matched etc.
Learning, I hope.:D

David,

Have you made sure that the keycode you want to use is the same one that you are using with the product?

If you click the gear icon next to "My Account" you should be able to see the keycode there. If you are seeing a different keycode, simply take the one that you wish to use and activate it in the field provided.

Please let me know if this helps, or if there is anything else I can do to assist.

Best Regards,

I copied from the application.
Something is not right.

It says "2 PCs Protected (1 expired)" but when looking at the clients it shows 1 PCs Protected (2 expired)

I am sorting it out. Have not involved support.
The core problem is in the 'date difference' between the date shown by the client (accurate) & the date on the Console.
The date shown on the Console was/is (client minus 1 day).
When I entered the new key code on my client there was 2 days left on client & 1 day left on Console. So all worked.
I did not manage to get the other 2 clients updated until the next day - 1 day on the client but 0 day (expired) on the console.
I guess, maybe, that Webroot use this to push the 'warning' to the client in advance.
