How do I get my pc out of safe mode?

I don't know what my wife may have done. She had told me she was placing her Avon orders as usual, and a display came up and said that the computer had a virus and if she would let them enter and clear it up, they apparently got in and then brought up a financial charge for the service, so she said no. They left, and I think they placed the virus there and cause it to go into safe mode. I did regain control by doing a restore, and it was working. The next morning it was in safe mode. Please help.
