can SecurityAnywhere be set up to scan flash drives and external hard drives automatically?

Welcome to the Webroot Community,
 
Right now the only way is to right click on the drive icon and select 'Scan with Webroot' to initiate the scan of your Flash drives and External Drives.
 
Currently WSA only scan, by default, the drive on which you OS is located.
 
EDITED: I am sorry I neglected to tell you that if the virus became active on your computer Webroot would of stopped it.

Thank you for your reply Ssherjj!  I don't know what made me right click and scan the flash drive, but SecurityAnywhere did it's job.  It found a threat and removed it.  I ran the program to scan my laptop and no threats were found.  So the lesson for me was to always right click after connecting a flash drive or external hard drive, always, regardless of whose drives they might be.

Oh you are most welcome! At least you heard your instincts and followed it. It's always good to be safe and not sorry as the saying goes! Just remember Webroot does have your back 99.99%
