wasd keyboards website blocked by webroot

I'm new to the forums here so let me know if I have posted this in the wrong area.  I recently installed webroot and have been pleased so far.  However, I recently visited the wasd keyboards site and was surprised to see that the site was blocked by webroot.  I am aware that I can simply ignore the warning and move on but I would prefer to know why it was flagged as unsafe.  Is there anywhere I can go to see what has caused this site to be flagged?

Hi webcamel

Welcome to the Community Forums...:D

Gald to have you around.

If you have a website that you feel is incorrectly identified as safe or unsafe, i.e., a false positive as yo have described it... follow the steps below to submit a change request.

1. First, click here to open Webroot's URL Reputation Change Request page.

2. Enter the web address of the page you are submitting in the URL field.

• If you believe the site should not be blocked, select the radio button next to “81-100”. This will give the URL the highest possible rating.

• If you believe the site should be blocked, select the radio button next to “1-20”. This will give the URL the lowest possible rating.

3. After rating the URL, please enter your email address and product type (e.g. Webroot SecureAnywhere for Mac). To receive notifications when your website change request is processed, check the box to receive notifications.

4. Click "Submit" to send your request.

Generally this team responds within 24-48 hours. You can also view further details about the Webroot website classification process by clicking here

Please post back to let us know if these actions have not resolved the issue.

Regards

Reporting of false positives can be done by Submitting a Trouble Ticket or by going to www.brightcloud.com

Hi!

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back, I've been out of town.  I just now filled out the url reputation change.  The advice has been very helpful.  My only remaining question is, what caused the site to be flagged?  I understand if y'all can't lookup specific flags.  Thanks again for the help!  This community appears to be full of helpful users.

Hi webcamel and Welcome to the Webroot Community Forums!

Why does a new web site have a low Reputation score?
We often field requests from customers who ask why a new site has a low Reputation score. The reason is that, after being trained on millions of good and bad websites, site "newness" (Age) has been determined - by the MED Machine Learning algorithm - to be a highly weighted and negative determinant of risk. Of the hundreds of thousands of new web sites created every day, a large percentage are plain "junk" - they are Parked or Spamvertised sites. More dangerously, a significant number of them are Malware, Phishing, Adware or Spyware. A very small number are actually legitimate new web sites.

Hi webcamel

No problem at all...very much understand.  Thank you so much for your response/feedback...and taking the time out to provide it. ;)

It is always useful, to all users, to have sight.

As Petr has explained in his post the a numerous reasons for a site's rating...and that rating gets more accurate, i.e., improves with the like of feedback from users like yourself completing the URL Reputation Change process.  The more who do that the more useful the rating becomes, especially in adjusting the automatic designations applied based on the mechanisms Peter's post highlighted.

So, please use the URL Reputation Change process as often as you feel it is appropriate to inform about what you feel are rating inaccuracies.

Hope to see you around in the Forums? :D

Regards
