2013 and Security: What to expect

2012 is coming to a rapid close. It was a BIG (maybe the biggest ever) year for tech, but unfortunately, that means it was also a big year for hackers and cybercriminals. As we all look forward to 2013, having good internet security may be more important than ever before. So make sure your business stays ahead of the game.

• First Quantity, Now Quality: In the past, cybercrime has relied on quantity over quality, often overwhelming rather than tricking unsuspecting users. Look for that to change in 2013 as cybercriminals will focus on creating smarter malware and conducting more focused attacks.
• BYOD or “Bring Your Own Device”: As BYOD becomes more and more popular in the workplace, cybercriminals will dedicate a significant portion of their focused attacks to infect employees' mobile devices with access to company networks. *If you've already embraced BYOD at your company and are looking to test out security solutions, we've got you covered! *

• Cross-Platform Botnets: Mobile and PC integration is great for productivity, savings, and keeping up with the trend, but it also encourages cybercriminals to look for ways to attack multiple devices. Look out for cross-platform botnets/DoS (Denial of Service) attacks simultaneously targeting PC's and mobile devices

• Secure the Cloud: As enterprises wholly embrace the cloud for it's efficiency and flexibility, many will forget cloud security best practices, rendering themselves defenseless to cloud security breaches. Fortunately, cloud security is what we do best!
