On my computer, under Devices and Drives, I can access the Backup & Sync to download by clicking on the drive. Until last night, that is. I now get the error message: " The request to the server failed (0x000000e9). Unable to connect to the SecureAnywhere agent. Please ensure that the agent is running and that you are logged in to your Backup & Sync account." I have no  trouble logging in to that and can still upload from my computer to the cloud. But without this other function I can't download. Any idea what happened?

I finally called Webroot. All I had to do was restart the computer and the function worked properly. Don't know why it happened, but the tech tried that first and it worked.

Hello argonia, welcome to the Webroot Community!

I have not experienced this before, nor have I heard of it happening.  That makes it really hard to say what happened.

In terms of trying to fix it, you might try a CLEAN install of Webroot and see if that will fix it.

  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again

If this does not work, you may need to submit a Trouble Ticket to have Webroot Support take a look at it.  Support is a free service for those with a valid license, but of course if the clean install works that would be much quicker.

Please let us know how you get along on this, and if the clean install helps!

Good to hear the Backup & Sync is working properly now. Well, the Webroot Support Team is very rapid and to the point with responses.

Don't hesitate to visit the Webroot Community Forum again if you have any confusion or problem with WSA.:)
