Larger number of iOS devices found in enterprise networks

Oct 23, 2016 21:20 GMT  ·  By Catalin Cimpanu  An analysis of transactions originating from devices protected by Zscaler security products reveals that iOS applications leak private user information in more situations than Android apps.

The result of this study shows that the generally accepted theory of iOS being more secure than Android doesn't necessarily apply to the apps running on these two platforms.

Whilst iOS might have leaked more data than Android in total, of the personally identifiable information leaks, only 260 were from iOS devices whereas 1,800 were from Android. Those are pretty small numbers considering that they investigated 26m iOS transactions and 20m Android.

However you could change the article's emphasis to say that as far as the most sensitive data is concerned, iOS is more secure than Android - but that wouldn't be news! :8
