As if this will make any difference...unfortunately. It is sad to say that in most cases users have to be bitten first before they understand the need to be serious when it comes to passwords and not chose expediency over safety. :(

But hopefully the initiative will help some people somewhere.

Thanks JP. My security must be OK as it wouldn't allow the popup window when I clicked on "What's your security IQ?" :D

Creating strong passwords on World Password Day
We’ve heard the same advice over and over when it comes to passwords—make it strong. But how many of us actually follow this advice? It used to be that 8 digit passwords (upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters) was sufficient.  Now, mine are 23 digit or maximum allowed, and no two are alike.  I'm unable to convince anyone to go beyond their simple 6 to 8 digit, used everywhere passwords.  :(

BTW, Webroot is an exception.  It seems most logins result in locking myself out so I now just use the Webroot assigned password which is 7 digits.  That is my weakest password!

Yep.  Of course I don't have to remember them.  They are generated and stored in KeePass so if the password is 2 digits or 200.

This makes life easy.  In addition, my Wife knows the KeePass password so if something happens to me she doesn't have to work hard to handle financial and other matters as all the information is in her hands.  Yes, I trust her!

In order to remember my KeePass password, it has to be simple so I use Upper and Lower case characters and numbers.  Currently the password is Pa55word which nobody could ever guess.  😛

😃 Haha. Happy to know you've got a good backup! It's interesting to hear how people manage their passwords and keep themselves safe.
