If you're an IT Admin that needs to update systems with the latest Adobe Flash Player.

First, I'd suggest that you uninstall it from any machine that doesn't need it. Flash is nothing but a security risk. If a user doesn't need it on their machine, get it off! FYI, Adobe has already set an end of life for it sometime in 2020.

Second, I would suggest using a software like PDQ Deploy to deploy it to the machines that need it when a new version comes out. PDQ Deploy has a free and paid version of their software, both have a software package library. You have to have the paid version to get access to the library with the exception of Flash. This is the one package they give away for free and it doesn't include any of the add-ons.

Even though the free version doesn't have access to the package library, you can still create your own packages. When you create a package you can then deploy it across your network to the machines that need that package's software. This is a very useful software deployment tool for any IT Admin.

This is not an ad, I don't work for or have any association with PDQ Deploy. I've just used it for years and found it very useful. I'm trying to pass along something I've found helpful to others.

@NicCrockett I post these updates for home users and I agree in most cases you don't need Adobe Flash, it's just like Java and I have removed all versions from my systems.

@TripleHelix I never said you were wrong. I only offered another option for IT Admins. After all both home and business users are in this community.

Do you think it's better to have both together or not? I don't think there is a choice with this new forum software.

Given that this is the "Security Industry News" forum and that's generic. No specification on home versus business, I don't think we have a choice. However, if someone reads our comments I think they can derive that your solution is for a home user or a user updating a single machine. Where my solution is meant for IT Admins to deploy not only Flash, but other software across a network. I guess we'll just have to hope that people can see the difference.
