Apple released updates to backport the recently released security patches for CVE-2022-42827 zero-day to older iPhones and iPads.

Apple has released new security updates to backport security patches released this week to address actively exploited CVE-2022-42827 in older iPhones and iPads, addressing an actively exploited zero-day bug.

Good to hear although I wonder how many more of the security updates Apple will now roll out for older OS versions.

I'm sure there will be something protecting consumers for x number of years before they can just drop them, but yeah, won't be forever

Starting to support less and less older hardware and software. In a way less to support should provide better resources to protect the current kit

Apple actually supports their old devices for much longer than most other companies. My Samsung 8 only got two major upgrades and was dropped from both Samsung and Android support after that. My 4 year old iPhone 11 still gets updates.
