So happy we chose Webroot.Microsoft has very valid points, but i personally have always had a great deal of respect for the work of av-test.Andreas Marx listed a lengthy reply here worth a read http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/01/17/avtest_microsoft_test_dispute/
While i think detection rates are somewhat important,i have always believed much more weight should be placed on a solutions ability to clean up an infection, which is where Webroot really shines with it's state of the art technologies.

In the past, I have seen several cases where MSE claimed that it had cleaned an infection but had not. It did even come close to disabling it. Because of that, I have very little trust in MSE.

It looks like I'll be taking a peek on the MSE Forum to see what excuses they are posting. I'm glad I'm running WSA. 😉

Unfortunately it's still not the reason for many average users who don't read tech news, forums, communities etc. to dig out MSE from their computers what's a shame, indeed.

Good news: MSE has shown to be 100% effective against the Eicar test string!
