I couldn’t let the day go by without mentioning that today is National Pumpkin Day! To celebrate I had pumpkin spice cream cheese on my bagel this morning and Pumpkin spice almond creamer in my coffee! I love the flavor of pumpkin and take full advantage of it when it’s in season!

Fitting given the time of year (which I am sure is by design of course!).

Not a fan personally of pumpkin flavour though…

Have to say, my wife really make a truly mean fritter. I can eat my fill just on those.

I always thought Halloween was national pumpkin day.  But to more things pumpkin spice flavor, all I can say is:

Never tried pumpkin spice myself. Just not really a lover of pumpkin in general. All to their own!

Talk about pumpkin and halloween. Never been one to celebrate it, and don't know to much about it either. That trivia sucked. BUT I still love a good pumpkin dish. Maybe that is why they dont allow me to celebrate it as I will eat all the pumpkins.

I was impressed I came second in that Trivia! I was rock bottom from the start for ages. Always a fun time @TylerM quizzes.

As for Halloween, here in the UK it isn't celebrated anywhere near as much as it is in the US. Around where I live in fact hardly anyone has any decorations up.

Same here but definitely building traction more and more with every passing year though, can't imagine why the kids love it so much🤣

Yes. Does seem to be a little more each year. Not enough for adults to dress up yet though!

Martin, do you live in the U.S.? I am guessing not, because it is impossible to miss candy begging day...um Halloween here.  And “trick or Treat” is yelled because if you do not give a treat, they may play a trick on you, Its a big shake down for candy!

Yet it is  “closer to home” for you in the UK than in the US. :-) I always love to learn more about customs and cultures. @TylerM thanks for the school lesson on halloween. :-) made me go back and do some more research in preparation for next years upcoming quizzes.

If you understand South African humor, I would have said something, but dont want to be offensive just in case. :-)

I am from South Africa @MajorHavoc , here, or rather in grew up in and live in now hardly even heard of tbh, let alone celebrated.

Kids love anything that have costumes in it where they can dress up, when they have heritage day here in South  Africa, it is one of the most beautiful days to me, to see all the people from different cultures dress up in their cultural outfits etc. The same go for Christmas times where kids want to be elves etc.

Thanks. I was wondering where they did not celebrate, so that explains things. It’s obviously a “holiday” made up by the candy companies (just a guess) to sell candy. Kids (and adults) dress up in costumes and the kids ring your door bell and expect to get candy.  It is realky fun to decorate the house with purple and Orange lights, pumpkins carved with faces, bats, spiders, skeletons, and so on. Just a lot of fun. But I do recall as a kid my parents would check all the candy because a few sick bast%#*%es would stick razor blades into candy and apples. I’m guessing these are the same people or do cyberattacks and ransomware.

I love that. I see less dress up for Christmas here, as long as you don’t count ugly Christmas sweaters. 😀
