Good Afternoon Webrooters & Friends,

I feel all the changes in this last year and recent changes are not in my best interest. There is nothing I can do to get our VIP privileges back that we have worked for so hard to get which were taken away from us. I am leaving all the Beta groups as well. I have given freely of my service as a Volunteer since 2013. I loved this Forum and helping others was my soul mission everyday.

The Management has taken over the PUG which was developed for TripleHelix (Daniel). He was a huge impact in this Forum that took care and fought for us for many years.Well he could not be controlled and they wanted him out! Daniel built this Forum from scratch with @ along with @ and lets not forget @.

This PUG Forum was full of canned replies which the New Management have edited or removed them, It was a place to ask questions and to resolve any issues for the  OPs. Management has changed all that. They have taken over everything and taken our privileges slowly but surely.

The VIPs here are/were Webroot's Product Expert Advisors for years supporting and selling Webroot to all we knew.

I believe they want the VIPs to leave because they want all control of everything. VIPs are being stripped down because of our resistance to all the changes that IMO are not for the better of this once friendly and fun Forum.

Demoting ranks & Promoting ranks is not fair for members. To give badges and.gifts to keep us motivated does not work for me. Power & Control does not work for me either. I will not be a puppet.

They probably will delete my post here because they don't want any negativity or pretend issues do not exist or even take any blame for anything that has occurred here or make changes.

Thank you all for your caring and the respect and most of all your friendship. I am truly blessed to have gotten to work with you and I will miss you guys. It's been a learning experience for me which I never will forget!

Bye the way...People that are now gone over the past 5 years:

Hi, Sherry – Thank you for the time, energy, and passion you brought to the community.

I don’t want to get into the weeds here instead, I’d like to highlight some of your amazing accomplishments in the community.

You:
  • Were the third person ever to achieve Gold VIP status on the Webroot Community
  • Visited Webroot Global headquarters in 2015 where you met with most of our product development teams
  • Were integral in developing Webroot SecureAnywhere for Macs – you created and drove the success of the beta, working with the development teams on creating and improving the product

Anna Kim, senior advocate program manager, put it best, “you’re one of the all-around nicest and most welcoming members on the Community.”

I’m grateful for you and every member of the PUG and VIP groups. You all have been instrumental to Webroot’s success. Looking down the road, I can’t wait to add more members and help them become just as engaged – earning badges and hitting various levels.

Webroot has grown exponentially over the past few years and our community has reflected a lot of that growth and change.

We take to heart the goal of creating a positive and welcoming place where those passionate about Webroot and its technology can have open conversations and ask questions.

If anyone has thoughts or suggestions on how we can improve the community moving forward, please feel free to reach out to me via PM.

Drew

Exactly!    ....I may be leaving, shortly, too.

P.S. What does PUG mean?

Oh!  Funny, but I was [recently] invited to join that group by a [certain] mod, and I queried that. I got a response, and left it at that.

Apparently, I have a feeling that I may have [inadvertently] caused the kerfuffle, that led to Dan, aka TripleHelix to resign from WSA Community. He may want to PM, me if so wishes.  I certainly did not mean to step on anyone's toes.

Imo extremely unlikely, my good friend. The problem goes deeper and further back than that. However, I do hope @ will see my ping so he can respond to your concern.

I doubt it (though let's hope I am wrong :D). The Webroot Community VIPs were a pretty unique group of people, and they largely made it what it was.

What happened that this changed so that trash-talking started happening within the PUG group? It didn't happen in a vacuum, Drew (Kelly also) ..............

The Webroot for Home Community Forum was a special place. I may be wrong, but I have my doubts it will ever be quite the same again.

Thank you @ for the post.
All the VIP's and long time members are special people on the Webroot Forum. Everyone taking a step farther by putting their heart into the work of the forum. Sherry was the first person I had ever seen go on vacation for weeks to see her family on the West Coast and while on vacation still sign into the forum almost daily to help people with problems. Her heart was truly in this forum and she will be missed. 😞

Thank you for the post @ that video was spot on by Mike.
Whatever happens on here his words have to be remembered.
What set the Webroot Support Site above all of the other ones run by the competition was that it was run as a family in which we felt we all belonged. We all have our strongpoints which we play to and that gave us a Community where users of Webroot seeking help could find it on pretty much anything.

I felt the power of the Community family on 28th August 2014 when I had received the biggest shock of my life. The Community helped me through that and for that I we will be eternally grateful, I just hope the Community never loses that family feeling, it is the glue that binds it all together.

Good Morning Webrooters,

First of all I would like to thank everyone for standing by me and saying goodbye. I have decided and asked if I could think about leaving the Community a bit longer. I feel I cannot leave here yet. This Forum has meant alot to me since 2013 and it's too hard to let go. So please accept my apoligies for saying good bye when I cannot do so in my heart.

Changes in this Forum have been very rough. It'll NEVER ever be the same without the Man who stood up and protected us all these years that he was in Webroot. Which we know was Daniel (TripleHelix). It is not fair or right that he asked to leave the Community and he was banned instead. I do not understand that at all. I'll always stand by Daniel as will many many others because of his genorosity and commintment to this Forum and for the human being that he truly is. He helped everyone and has always been there for us.. So he will truly be missed but not forgotten. We all in the Community were/are like family. Now that the Webroot has grown into a huge business. They seem to be trying to alter, changing what we all once had? I guess when Corporations get too big they lose that unity feeling that keeps people together. Anyways..

I am still here to be positive and hoping for the best.

Thank you for your time and understanding my friends.:D

BTW: Thank you Drew for your nice post and thank you to Muddy....and any others I may have missed.

Banned?? Wow!!!

Well, it is true that Daniel can at times have a very abrasive side to his character which could, and can, in the wrong circumstances and where there is a difference of point of view and that view is strongly held, play badly against him.

Certainly, there existed such a situation here. And so yes, there may be more to it than meets the eye and of which we are ignorant.

But it really does feel like an irresistible force meeting an immovable object. The irredeemably abrasive confronting the unyieldingly stubborn: a recipe for disaster.

How different it could have been! It only needed one side to admit that there was wrong on their part too. I almost wish that Mike is silently reading this post and that he might be able to offer himself as an Independent Arbiter. But I expect that’s just wishful thinking…

Wow I am really shocked to hear that you left the Webroot Community and Daniel too.   I don't know where to start....It's like a good part of me is saying, "I can't believe this is happening".  Sherry you and Daniel have mastered the in and outs of the webroot software and when I first came to the forum, you took me on as your under study with kind hearts, excellent knowledge, etc., and I will never forget that.  I have read the other posts on this topic and they are right,  the Webroot Community Forum will not be the same without you and Daniel.  You two were bookends in this community and made sure the community ran smooth each and everyday.  I am going to miss the both of you and wish you good luck in your future endeavors.

Warmest Regards,

Julie

Reading my post above again, I realise my statement was ambiguous when I said:

I had, in fact, one particular side in mind and a particularly egregious wrong. Those in the know will know perfectly what I am referring to though, for those who don't, I prefer not to elaborate further. Sorry for that needless ambiguity 😠

Look at the trouble the VIP helpers were prepared to go to to help any Webrooter's problem however tortuous and roundabout it might be to get to the bottom of—see example here—and now, thanks to the ineptness and, may I say, arrogance of certain people from above in addressing a personal conflict, all that goodwill has completely evaporated and they have all, to the last man and woman, stopped posting or even chosen to retire from the Community.

Tragic, and utterly needless! These people gave their hearts and souls to this Community Forum. Never, in my personal opinion, will it be the same again.

I have only just read this topic and what a crying shame. It was a few years back on Wilders that I decided to go to Prevx after some help from Triple Helix, then Webroot, an action that I have never regretted. The help here has been exemplary, in one of the most friendliest forum out there with no sign of keyboard rage that sadly infests far too many these days.
I have been helped here by too many to name, and am very sad to see them move on. The forum will NOT be a better place for their loss.
Just the thoughts of an 'ordinary' punter.
