I’ve been following this Tropical Storm that will turn into a major hurricane shortly. @TylerM looks like you may be in the path of this storm. Stay safe as this storm passes. Here in Chesapeake Va, we will get a lot of needed rain from this storm.

Since I live in the Virginia Beach area I have this website in my “Bookmarks” for the weather. I use it a lot during hurricane season.

@TripleHelix @ProTruckDriver

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

So yeah this is my first hurricane. I was supposed to be flying out tomorrow to go to spiceworld conference, but it got cancelled and I’m staying safe with the family. I have no idea what to expect and I’m just doing what I think needs to be done like boarding up vulnerable windows and clearing out any lose stuff like trash cans and plants.

Got no idea otherwise what to expect

A lot of rain and little wind so far. That can change because they don’t know the exact track Ian will take after landfall.

How is it going in Florida @TylerM ?

I’ve been watching the weather channel and seen Ian made landfall as a top Cat 4 (2 mph from a Cat 5) hurricane in the vicinity where you are. Stay safe down there and stay away from the down power lines.

Oh man that sucked! Not too much damage to house, just gutter damage basically, minor pool cage damage.

The real problem is being without power and internet for 48 hours. That’s the worst!

However some neighbors got it way worse with fallen tree

Driveway to my Grandmas house

Glad to hear you made it through the storm without much damage. We were all beginning to worry about you and your family. Invest in a power generator for the power outages. We did when we owned our home.

We’re getting rain from Ian now and the winds will be picking up in a few hours but nothing like Florida had. They are forecasting the winds might set off some tornado's in the area.  We need the much needed rain here.

@TylerM , So very happy that you and family are okay. At least you still have your home and your lives. Scary for sure.

My Son is a Lineman from Buffalo NY and he's been in West Palm Beach for a few days now. I heard from him yesterday via text. Not sure if and when the or where all those 30-40 thousand Linemen are but the winds and water have to be low before going in to fix those power lines....stations etc.  What a vicious Hurricane eh?

Stay safe Tyler! Thankyou for letting us all know that you and family are okay.

Thank you @TylerM for letting us know, we were worried about you and your family.

Even better your house has escaped much damage and just 4 hours without power is good going, it could have been one hell of a lot worse for you.

@Jasper_The_Rasper @Ssherjj

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! Things are looking up with power coming on pretty reliably now, but I know I’m lucky as many others wont have it for maybe a week or longer.

Gas stations and McDonalds are starting to open up so that’s a good sign.

The line for McDonalds is like nothing I’ve ever seen in my life (I didn’t wait in it)

Big week next week when I launch nasitest malware and community contest - Glad I’ll have power for it :)

Florida did a really good job getting power back and for the most part everything is back to normal even the beach front. I wasn’t at direct hit Fort Meyers though
