Hurricane Idalia / Hurricane Franklin

Hurricane season is here again. Hurricane “Idalia” in the Gulf tracking to hit Central / Northern Florida and a major Hurricane Franklin in the Atlantic Ocean (No threat to the USA). Here on the Virginia Coast we are getting rain from the remnants of Franklin. Later this week we will be getting the remnants from Idalia. Looks like a lot of rain and little wind all this week, it’s raining now here. Good weather to sleep all day.  Stay safe @TylerM down in Florida. Looks like we both are going to have a lot of rain.

I was wondering about you Tyler but bearing in mind what we hear over here I thought you would have had more than 30MPH winds, you have been lucky.

Yes definitely lots of fear and hype for $$$. Jacksonville did get some major flooding but it’s an every year type expectation and pretty much everyone has a generator just in case power goes out for couple days (450k currently have no power).

Last year was no joke worst storm in 100 years -165 mph sustained so I think everything I experience from now on will pale in comparison to that.

I can relate to that Tyler, I remember Great storm of 1987 only too well, the damage was breath-taking and over 15 million trees were lost.

The season may be over @ProTruckDriver  but as the saying goes, just don't count your chickens yet.
