Talk about pumpkin and halloween. Never been one to celebrate it, and don't know to much about it either. That trivia sucked. BUT I still love a good pumpkin dish. Maybe that is why they dont allow me to celebrate it as I will eat all the pumpkins.

Martin, do you live in the U.S.? I am guessing not, because it is impossible to miss candy begging day...um Halloween here.  And “trick or Treat” is yelled because if you do not give a treat, they may play a trick on you, Its a big shake down for candy!

Toilet roll over the house and eggs I'm guessing if the cliches are to be believed!!

I was impressed I came second in that Trivia! I was rock bottom from the start for ages. Always a fun time @TylerM quizzes.

As for Halloween, here in the UK it isn't celebrated anywhere near as much as it is in the US. Around where I live in fact hardly anyone has any decorations up.

Yet it is  “closer to home” for you in the UK than in the US. :-) I always love to learn more about customs and cultures. @TylerM thanks for the school lesson on halloween. :-) made me go back and do some more research in preparation for next years upcoming quizzes.

This actually came up in the car with the wife and kids yesterday and I was actually able to impart some history on Halloween to them thanks to the quiz!!

I am still stunned that your country does not know about this “holiday”. You should start something, the kids will love it

We’ll carve a pumpkin and my daughter will trick or treat to a couple of next door neightbours. That’s all we do really. Seriously not really a thing around where I live in the UK

These were my kids efforts yesterday, already looking a bit haggard now 😂

I love it. As a kid, we were not allowed to put a candle inside as my mom would use the pumpkins before they got bad to make pumpkin pie!

It's not that they don't know about it per say, it's definitely gaining traction year on year, but when my generation were kids, it was practically non-existent in our country and most people just saw is as begging. Now the streets in many locations are pretty packed with families dressed up on the day depending on where you go. A lot of houses don’t partake and thus don’t decorate their house, people avoid those ones out of courtesy (How very british!!).

Thank you, I stand corrected.

Same here but definitely building traction more and more with every passing year though, can't imagine why the kids love it so much🤣

Kids love anything that have costumes in it where they can dress up, when they have heritage day here in South  Africa, it is one of the most beautiful days to me, to see all the people from different cultures dress up in their cultural outfits etc. The same go for Christmas times where kids want to be elves etc.

I love that. I see less dress up for Christmas here, as long as you don’t count ugly Christmas sweaters. 😀

That’s where the Brits kick in. We love a good Christmas jumper!!! I have WAY too many Star Wars Christmas Jumpers! (We call them jumpers, not sweaters!)
