Week 1:
Season 2 of the iRacing Nationwide series kicked off this past week at Talladega, and the Webroot Racing Chevy was ready. Unfortunately the driver had a brain fade while making a green flag pit stop and was caught speeding on pit road, resulting in a 15 second penalty. This caused the car to lose the lead pack and run by itself for a number of laps. However, the car was strong and when the leaders caught the Webroot Chevy, they were unable to pass as the draft clearly showed that the Webroot car was among the fastest on the track.
Start: 10, Finish 6, on lead lap.

Good to know Webroot is not only fast on my PC, but also on the Track. 🙂

Week 2 already? Yep. Weeks go from Tuesday through Monday, and the Week 1 race was run on the last day of that week.
So now we head to Darlington. The track is one of the most difficult ovals that NASCAR races on. If you try to get too aggressive and race someone hard, the track will bite you as several drivers found out. She is a tough track, and you better have your line right each and every turn. This track does not forgive.
The Webroot Racing Chevrolet started in 7th spot. The driver (yours truly), still ticked after the speeding penalty from the Talladega race, kept calm and raced smart. Having a fast car is one thing, keeping out of the Darlington wall is another. The Webroot car methodically worked it's way through the field. Several cautions for wrecks kept the field close, and the racing tight. However, nobody coudl match the speed of the Webroot car. The "sail it in and hang on" throttle control approach to turn 1 enabled the car to be 1 to 2 tenths a second faster than any other car in the race. Donuts at the end!
