Hi fiddler2007

Welcome to the Community Forums.

WSA is designed to be used with another firewall, i.e., by default the assumption is that will be the Windows Firewall; WSA cedes the proetction of the incoming connections to the WIindows Firewall and concentrates on the protection of the outbound connections.

Having said that if you prefer you can turn off the WIndows Firewall and replace it with a 3rd prty firewall such as ZoneAlarm, Private Firewall, and the like...but you MUST use another firewall to protect the inbound connections. Most of us here find that the WSA/Windows Firewall combo is extremely good at its job and that there is no need for an alternative firewall.

For some more informaiton please see this KB Article on the subject.
