My task manager shows multiple Google Chrome Execs and they are always running and using lots of space. I read that it could be Poewliks trojan but Web Root does not seem to detect this on my computer. I have also tried other recommended malware programs and nothing gets rid of it.

Hi Berie
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Whilst you may have read elsewhere that this infection can be removed by the end user if it is indeed Poweliks then I would recommend that you Open a Support Ticket ASAP, so that the Support Team professionals can take a look at this, confirm if it is or not and if it is then deal with this for you. This service is free to all WSA users who have an activie/current subscription.
Given what I know about this malware I would not do otherwise
I should point out that given it is the weekend, and a holiday weekend to boot, the Support Team, who do work 24/7, may not be up to their usual stellar response times...but have patience and I am sure that they will respond as soon as they can.
Regards, Baldrick

I have never seen any of the various variants of PoweLiks using Chrome (as its not a default Windows program it doesnt make sense to). Each open Google Chrome Window gets its own process so if you 10 tabs open you will have 10 Google Chrome processes running.
Hi Roy
I have come acreoss some reports of disguised malware using the Chrome process name but given what you say it is therefore most likely nothing but I thought it best that the OP gets this checked out by the professionals rather than speculating...just in case by some unfortunate chance it is indeed an infection...but safe than sorry.
