Hi mayrwing,

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

You didn't mention what Windows OS that you are running.  How long have you beeen having this issue? Have you upgraded to Windows 10? Does your computer work alright after it does boot up? There can be alot of reasons that your PC takes so long to boot.. Did this start up after installing Webroot?

So I have narrowed it down to maybe you have too many start-up programs starting up which causes a slower boot-up time.

You can use CCleaner to manage startup programs downloaded from Piniform. Make sure you set a System Restore point as well if using this.

Here are some Microsoft help sites below.

MSConfig

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-system-configuration#1TC=windows-7

While you are at it you could go ahead and clean up the files and applications that you do not need.

Disk Cleanup Tool

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup#delete-files-using-disk-c...

Hope this helps?

Hello and Welcome to the Webroot Community!

If the things Sherry suggested don't work there are times you need to do a clean reinstall of Windows for some reason Windows or your Hardware could of corrupted Windows as well as many other factors but if it continues to be slow it might be the only way, be sure to back up all important files, photos, music and anything else you might want before doing so.

Thanks,

Daniel
? it would be usefull to tell us which operating system you use as there are in my opinion safer ways to control which programs run at startup from the pc. I've a natural dislike for tools like ccleaner but that's my own feeling and does not reflect the feeling of other experts here in the community.

For Windows 10 you can control that from the Taskmanager interface ( just look for the "Startup tab" ).

Have no experience with windows 8 and for Windows 7 it's slightly different.
