should windows 10 firewall be disabled? installation disabled windows defender, but not the firewall

Welcome to the Community Forums.
The answer to that is a definitive 'No'...the Windows Firewall must not be disabled when WSA is installed.
Please take a look at this KB Article on the subject.. Essentially, WSA lets the Windows Firewall handle the inbound connections and it hardens/complements the protection on the outbound connections.
If you do decide that you do not want to use the Windows Firewall then you MUST install a 3rd party replacement.
