Webroot keeps asking for activation

Hello, I installed a fresh copy of Webroot Secure Anywhere on a new installation of Windows 10 Professional. Every time I open Webroot it says Account Activation Needed. I press the button that says Activate My Account. I copy and paste the key, Webroot says it is activated and does a scan. The next time I open Webroot I have to go through the same process. I have entered the key 8 times and still have the same issue when I re open it.
Please advise.

Hello ccaire,

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

Have you gone through the process of Creating a Webroot Account? Please look here  on How to Create a Webroot Account

Also have you tried adding the keycode to your Online Account Console? Then doing a scan of Webroot?

To add a license keycode:
 1. Open the SecureAnywhere website menu and click Manage Keycodes.
 2. Click Add Product Keycode to open the keycode field:
 3. Enter the product keycode and click Add.
If you still have problems activating Webroot you can always Submit a Support Ticket free of charge and they can help you to get  Webroot activated.

Hello ccaire,

I am not sure why this second computer is not activating for you. The only other thing I would say is to do a uninstall/reinstall of Webroot and see if it corrects itself with this activation. If it does not then please Submit that Support Ticket. This uninstall/reinstall should only take you around 5 minutes to do.

Please follow the steps closely!

 • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
 • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
 • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE) Let us know if it is the Mac version you need.
 • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
 • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
 • Let it finish it's install scan
 • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue?

Thanks,

Every normal uninstall process did not work. I finally went into Safe Mode, went through the Windows registry and deleted every instance of and mention of Webroot. I was then able to delete the Webroot folders in Program Files and Program Data. I rebooted and reinstalled Webroot. The program says everything is working, i.e., all shields, scheduled scan, etc. However on the main screen there is a message that says "Account Activation Needed. Please verify your email in order to activate your SecureAnywhere account" When I click the button that says "Activate my account", the Webroot login page comes up. My account is activated already. I can log in and see all my info fine.

Please advise.
