As I noted in Good Morning, I have tried a few things to see if I can replicate it, and tried to look up any solution, but nothing so far.  ? do you have any ideas or utility that will help fix this?

(Baldrick: This thread has gotten pretty long but you might want to take the time to read it to understand the situation in full )

?One thing you MIGHT try is to run the Webroot System Optimizer if you can.  I had a really strange Windows 10 problem a month or so ago, caused probably by a registry issue, and believe it or not the Optimizer ended up fixing it.  Make sure to check the settings for it in Advanced Settings to have the Registry checked!

Hi ?,

Sorry ? you had this covered..

Sorry to hear you are having this problem. I am not that familiar with Windows 10 but have you tried going into Safe Mode and doing a repair.

Use the Shift + Restart combination. Another way of getting into Safe Mode in Windows 10 is to use the Shift + Restart combination. Open the Start menu and click or tap on the Power button. Then, while keeping the Shift key pressed, click or tap on Restart.Once you get to the troubleshooting screen, either by using the SHIFT + Restart trick on the login screen, or by mashing the F8 key, by clicking the advanced repair options, you’ll be taken to this screen, where you can choose to Troubleshoot your PC.
You will need to click on the Troubleshoot button.
Also I can you do SFC/ scannow https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833 Run System Restore: If your computer was recently working fine but it’s now unstable, you can use Systwm Restore to restore its system state to the earlier, known-good configuration. Assuming your computer is unstable and crashing, it may be possible to run System Restore without crashing from Safe Mode. ? or ? any advice here?

Here ya go..

To run an optimization:
 1. Open SecureAnywhere.
 2. Click Utilities to expand the Utilities drop-down.
 3. You can click Optimize Now from the Utilities drop-down or click the gear icon next to the Utilities option, then select the System Optimizer tab and click Optimize Now. The optimizer shows a progress bar as it runs.
 4. When the optimizer completes, the system displays how much disk space was recovered and when the last optimization was completed. If you want details about what was deleted, you can click the View button from Utilities > System Optimizer.
 5. The log displays in the default text editor. Close the file to escape.

Are you logged in as an Admin user, or are you on a work computer at which you only have standard user rights and for which there is an IT type person around?

That would be why you get the contact sys admin note.  The work terminals will be set so that you are not able to make any changes to the computer yourself, and that will include WIndows UPdates.

I hate to tell you this, and I know you do not want to hear this, but you are almost certainly going to have to call the IT type and have them come and take a look 😞

OOPs.  LOL

Ok, log into the terminal with the Admin/IT password.  :)  If you are able to.  Maybe a reboot with the F8 options to force into safe mode?

what if the computers are all seperate machines not on a network with no admin accounts built into them, the company i work for never had an IT department so I am starting from the ground up, so sry for all the questions

Dont worry about all the questions.. no worries there.

I don't think they COULD have installed with no admin passwords, but of course even if they DID put admin passwords is it sounds like you have been tossed into the lake with no paddle so to speak, given that the company has no record of what password may have been used.

The bad part there becomes that you MIGHT have to do a full clean install of WIndows on any affected machines, but lets wait to see if Baldrick has any ideas when he comes in.  That will still be a few hours from now most likely  :(
