I had Mackeeper installed on my computer, and it became unstable when I added webroot.  Why can't I use both applications on my computer?

Hello Bosley,

Can you go into more depth. Has Webroot blocked or quarantined MacKeeper? Or is Webroot just not working?

Mackeeper is classified as a PUA (Potentially Unwanted Application).  PUAs are generally harmless to the computer, but they can alter your settings, such as your home page in your browser, without notifying you and making it very difficult to change the settings back. Because of this, Webroot SecureAnywhere is programmed to remove these applications to prevent any changes that you may not have authorized..  Because PUAs are not malicious by nature, but can be used for malicious purposes, you may choose to allow the file(s) on your system using the following processes.

If this applies to you then please follow these instructions below.

Part 1: Check to see if any related files are in quarantine
1. Click on the cog icon next to 'MAC Security'.
2. Open the 'Quarantine' tab.
3. Check the box next to the filename you want to restore, then click Restore.

Part 2: Change the Detection Configuration for the files (if necessary)
1. In the MAC Security setting screen, click the 'Block/Allow Files' tab.
2. If a file you want to use is in the list, make sure the 'Allow' radio button is selected.
3. If the file is not in the list, click the 'Add file' button.
4. Navigate to the file and click Open.
5. Make sure the item is set to "Allow" in the list.

Hope this helps,

Kind Regards,
