Why is "waiting for Webroot Filtering Extension" slowing down my browsing so much?

This is my first subscription to Webroot.  I use Chrome and find that the message "Waiting for extension-Webroot Filtering Extension" is slowing down my browsing considerably.  Sometimes takes 15-20 seconds to load a page.  Any ideas?

Hello there, welcome to the Community!

Webroot has recently done some upgrades to the Web Filter Extensions, and the one for Chrome appears to be acting up a little bit.  Several users have reported the same thing as you, but it is by no means universal.  I also use Chrome, and generally I have NOT had any issues.

Webroot is quite fully aware of the issue and they are working on it, but to both help YOU and them out, would you mind submitting a Trouble Ticket?  I have been made aware that Webroot Support does happen to have what seems like a fairly easy fix for the moment that will help you now, and the extra data they get from assisting you will help the process of getting things resolved permanently.

Webroot Support is free of charge with your valid WSA software license.

I hope this helps!

Is there a fix for this issue?  It has made any web work painfully slow and, quite frankly, I'm ready to completely switch to a different anti-virus software.  I work with web-based software for two different companies and it is taking 2-3 times what it used to take to complete a simple project!
