Unable to cancel Webroot Subscription

Hello, I used to have a laptop that I used Webroot on until I replaced the laptop in March 2023. Prior to getting rid of it, I believed I had cancelled the subscription to Webroot. However, I was just checking bank statements now and saw I was charged 29.99 for “Webroot Yearly Plan” in October 2024 Since I lack the keycode to cancel since the laptop is gone, I attempted to put in my email to Webroot’s Auto-renewal Cancellation link here: https://www.webroot.com/us/en/auto-renewal-optout Which gave me the response shown in the attached picture. So I called the number and Best Buy confirmed what I had said, that the subscription had been cancelled in March 2023. I asked for my keycode to attempt cancelling on Webroot site just in case, which they gave me. When I entered the keycode, I got the other attached image, saying this license is not currently enrolled in autorenewal. The Best Buy support person was unsure of how to help and recommended I call Webroot and gave me their support num

Webroot isn't deleting fake anti-virus

I’ve been a Webroot user for almost 12 years and am generally pleased with it. However, I have recently been getting fake virus alerts from “Microsoft” and “McAfee” and Webroot isn’t erasing them. For example, a loud alarm tone will sound off from my wife’s laptop, then a few verbal warnings that we should call “Microsoft” immediately. If I run Webroot at that point, it doesn’t delete the malware, even if I re-boot, etc... Is there a quick fix for this, or do I need to re-install the software? Thanks, Roy in New Mexico

Webroot Blocking all Nividia Product Updates

It appears that Webroot is blocking all of my NVIDIA product updates with error code: 0x80070005. I have added every “.exe” file in all of my NVIDIA Corporation folders to the Webroot “Allow” category to no avail. Where can I see what exact files Webroot is blocking so that I can fix the issue. If this will be an issue of blocking without an opportunity to override the block in the future, using Webroot will waste my time and lose any functionality for me.

Nvidia wont install drivers cause webroot dening it access error 0x80070005

my nvidia app is for my graphics and never had a problem before this now i get freezing , Idk why webroot is denying access to nvidia app to update my drivers

scan cancels

hi ,my webroot is blue and seems to only scan for a few seconds and cancels .on my Mac at the top right bar click on the webroot icon and a drop down comes up but the scan my computer is grey so you can not click on it if i open the webroot i can press the scan button on the front left but only sans for a few seconds or 10 minutes all so no progress bar comes up.thanks

How can I tweak Win 11 and/or Webroot VPN to work better?

Got a new computer, that’s good and bad. Has WIn 11 Pro. Since I’ve had it my Webroot VPN doesn’t work as well. Slows down the internet feed horribly and disconnects have increased. This has happened on different routers and with different IP providers at multiple locations, so I don’t think it’s a provider thing. Any suggestions?

Renewal does not carryover remaining days

Just renewed Webroot SecureAnywhere for 1 year with 29 days remaining and the renewal subtracted the 29 days rather than apply them to the renewal end date. Doesn’t that seem dishonest?

Lasspass Webroot version

I’ve been using the LassPass that is include with Webroot for some time. The other day I was using Edge and LassPass wasn’t installed. So I went to the Microsoft store and I got it and installed it. I entered my password and I thought all was good. Then I went back to Firefox. But now when I click on my vault or some other tasks, it sometimes asks me for a payment method. I don’t remember it doing that before. At that point I looked up how to install Lastpass for Webroot and I see you get it from your console. So I went there. And I followed the prompts and it said that Lastpass had change. I followed all the prompts and it was successful. Said Lastpass powered by Webroot. But I still get the payment prompt sometimes. So how do I know if I have the version of LastPass for Webroot. I’ve looked all over the app, but I don’t see where it says Powered by Webroot any where. Should I see that somewhere? Up in the right corner, it does show my email and underneath it says premium user. Or is

Webroot Account Security Overview

Hi I am a long time Webroot user on the Windows platform. The security overview in my account is showing protection for 15 computer, I only have 1 computer.I know you can hide details of unused computers etc.Can Webroot support remove the old unused computer details please?I also have some expired subscriptions that are no longer used can they be removed from my account.Thank you.

Mac OS X - CloudStorage folder - Scanning slows to 1-5 files per second...

So I always remembered Secure Anywhere being fast. I haven’t payed attention to it in a long time as far as scanning time goes. I just renewed my subscription and went through the settings again. I was noticing over the past few days that there was no last scan info. Then I see the program isn’t finishing a scan even after 9 hours. From what I can see it is slowing down in the user/library/CloudStorage folder. I have put the folder in the “Ignore” but it still seems to scan it. I tried to save and look at a log file but when I look at the timestamp it’s not listing the CloudStorage folder. I know its scanning the Dropbox folder as I can see the files while it’s scanning and they are only located there. Another odd thing is 95% of my dropbox is offline. Webroot Business on Mac Sequoia

What is the difference between Home and Business versions? From the system requirements here, the Home version supports for the latest Mac OS version Sequoia, but the Business Endpoint version doesn’t? Only Mac Ventura?

WSA holding onto volumes from DMG or USB when trying to eject.

Anyone else see this issue and hopefully have a work around: When I mount a DMG disk image, or plug in a USB drive to my MacBookPro, I cannot eject it because I am told one or more programs may be using it. This even happens if NO programs are shown as running. I have noted that if I quit WSA (shut it down) I can then eject these drives But WSA scanning the drives it seems leaves some process open that still has an active pin to the drives. I do not want to force eject an HD, or even a DMG as it can damage the image or drive. Suggestions anyone? (FYI: Webroot Customer Service suggested I shut down WSA, eject the drive, and then turn it back on. WORST SOLUTION EVER.)

Sorry for my absence, but…

Sorry I have been missing for a while, but I have not been in a very good mood about both Webroot or Carbonite lately. Carbonite has been telling me that my account has been disabled every single day. I have followed all the instructions from the documentation on how to work around this issue, which is basically turning off the No IP tracking feature on EVERY WiFi connection I use and on Ethernet connections as well, and then reinstalling Carbonite each time the disabled message appears. After having done that more than 2 dozen times over many weeks, and it still will not finish a backup, I finally got a customer service call and chatted with the technical team to be told “They are working on the problem.” But I’m still getting emails telling me my backup is out of date. No, really? Sigh!. As for Webroot WSA, every time I reboot I get multiple warnings about potential security issues on system files, mostly .plist files. EVERY TIME! The number changes, but I have received as many as 79

Error Message when logging in

I get an error message when trying to log into one of my machines. It says to check my internet connection which works fine. Other machines of mine don’t have any issues.

False positive is back again: BaseSystem.dmg

Once again, BaseSystem.dmg, which is part of the recovery partition installer for MacOS 10.11.6 is yet again being reported as a threat. Our MSP only offers Webroot as an AV solution, and although I wish it weren't the case, it really appears that Mac support in webroot is: "Well... if we HAVE to" level of support. I've been through the Adobe Creative Cloud crippling false positives of a year ago where if you didn't hit the right button, your CC install would be trashed. I've been through the total lack of interest in fixing the "Secure keyboard entry" conflicts with Adobe apps. I've been through the horrendously slow drive scans compared to other products. The high CPU usage... the firing off of multiple simultaneous scans... the CPU fans going nuts... The persistant Exclamation mark in the menu bar because it is going to find something wrong that isn't. Its so bad I've given up asking users to report it to me. I am normally a very civil and calm person, but this is really getting und

When I try to log into Webroot VPN on one of my machines I get an error message saying I’m not connected to the internet. My other machines work just fine.

I keep receiving "WiFi Security cannot connect" when trying to log into Webroot.

I change my internet provider to Starlink would this contribute to the message? My bandwidth and speed is more than previous may provider.

virus or what.

I inadvertently ran a program called story AI. Webroot flagged it so I told it to remove it. However, upon reboot it flagged 2 directories as a virus: WRCore and WRData. Finally, after 3 attempts the scan passed. Am thinking those two directories are part of webroot. Any ideas. The system never showed any ill effects, TIA

Disaster trying to sign in

I’ve never had so much trouble and had to waste more time than now. I’ve been a customer forever. I know that when I signed up for Webroot they weren’t owned by Carbonite. Since Carbonite bought them I’ve had nothing but problems signing in. I used to sign in through a Webroot portal. If I find it now it is by random chance. My login would not work. I tried to go to forgot password and reset it, but got sent to another completely different portal. I gave my email and got options to reset password or security code. I got a password reset email and got sent to log in here community.opentextcybersecurity.com, yet another url i had never seen before. The email said for Webroot Community and came from community@webroot.com. OK, I want to get to where I can open a support ticket. That’s not here. So where do I go now to log in for webroot support, not the community? Now when I go to Webroot.com it says Webroot by OpenText. From there I click on My Account, select Home and get sent to another

This interface STILL makes no sense to me.

I think I have borough this up before, but again, I am at a loss to exactly what to push or tap to see WHAT the program has found. So as a UI designer, once again I will complain that this is an AWFUL interface. If I am warned about a potential threat, I should not have to guess or search for the first thing someone will want to do: See the threats. I am going to assume “Remove Threats” will do just that, remove what IT thinks are threats. But frankly, Webroot has removed things it thought were threats hat actually broke the system and were not threats. So I need to see a list first. OK, so I actually found a way to see the list. You click on the TINY GREEN words that says, “31 items”. That takes me to Quarantine and from there I can see a tab called threats. Very round about. But several problems here: One, “31 items” is in green. Usually the color that nothing is wrong. Two, it is not obvious that one can click on the words “31 items”. They are not underlined like a link might be, an
