Webroot Installation/Update

After my subscription to Webroot Secure Anywhere expired, I purchased Webroot Antivirus 2016 from Amazon, I completed the download, entered the new keycode, and a completed scan of my computer. However, the Webroot display window still says that my subscription has expired. The produce version is 9.0.7.42.  Should I be concerned about the expired subscription?

Hi mark1

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I believe that what you are seeing is due to your previously expired license continuing to prompt for renewal duringt he 30 day grace period that Webroot provide from the actual expiry date.

What you have undertaken is what I call a 'pseudo' renewal, i.e., rather than add time to your existing subscription you have opted to purchase a new one and have received a new keycode. Entering the new keycode does not 'cancel' the previous keycode but they effectively run active in parallel until such time as the 30 day grace period is up.

What you have done is fine but I suspect that it is WSA not handling the state of affairs as elegantly as it could. I believe that you choice is just to put up with the renewal messages until the grace period is over or Open a Support Ticket and ask the Support Team to cancel your previous, expired keycode.

The key thing to check is that your protection is active, i.e., the main app panel is coloured GREEN & that you have the Tick/'Protected' legend showing in the top part of the main app panel.

Hope that helps?

Regards, Baldrick
