Win 7 screen freeze when run batch file

Hi all,
Newbie 1st post. Hope someone can help!
I installed Webroot AntiVirus last week.
Win 7 screen freezes when I run a batch file. It worked fine prior to installing Webroot.
I have a batch file that I run that opens multiple windows. The freeze only happens when webroot is enabled. It totally freezes and the only way out, most of the time, is to uplug my computer. I get the loading symbol and my mouse cursor jumps all over the screen. It also turns off my mouse and I have to remove and reinsert the battery to turn it on. Again, when I disable webroot everything works fine.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Webroot and it continues to happen.
I have tried 2 different wireless mice and one wired. The problem exists with all of them.
I am running win7 and IE8.   I only run the batch file in IE8 but once the problem starts to occur and if I can switch to Firefox, it is also impacted.
So I guess that tells me it's not a mouse problem, browser problem or windows problem.
Is it a Webroot program or compatibility problem?
Webroot doesn't seem to like the opening of mutiple windows. Is there a setting on Webroot that will allow the opening of multiple windows without freezing?
I would appreciate any help!
TIA
Kathy
