In what appears to be a rehash of last year's problem, some customers say the update to Apple's mobile software has hurt battery life and caused apps to shut down.

Apple's latest update to its mobile software is apparently causing a stir -- and not a good one.
 
Many Apple customers on social media and within online forums are reporting that apps on their devices are crashing when they update their operating system to iOS 9, the latest version of the software that powers iPhones and iPads. iOS 9 rolled out to consumers on Wednesday.
 
It hearkens back to problems with the update to iOS 8 last year, which caused certain devices to experience buggy Wi-Fi and decreased battery life. Subsequent updates to fix the software ended up carrying their own problems. These problems aren't rare -- Apple pulled its WatchOS update for its Watch because a bug, and issues often arise with the introduction of new software.
