https://nationaldaycalendar.com/national-woodie-wagon-day-third-saturday-in-july/

Let’s bring out your age. How many on this forum remember these old wagons? I do and I remember riding in them.  Those were the good old days.

I love seeing the old Woodies! My dad had a few old cars when I was young, 1930 Chrysler Sedan with Suicide Doors and wooden spoke wheels, 1953 Buick with a straight 8 and 3 speed on the tree and a very nice 1956 Buick Century 4 door sedan hardtop with lot’s of chrome on the inside and of course outside and the big white sidewall tires and 1 gear as it had variable pitch dynaflow transmission!

Something like this one!

I remember my Dad owned something like these:

Studebaker:

Nash Rambler:

I remember my sister boyfriend owned one of the real old cars with the huge running boards. I use to hop on the running board and he would take me for a slow ride a little ways.

Remember the ignition switch wasn’t like today's cars. Back the you would have to turn the key then push a button to start it.

Remember the hump in the middle of the floor on all the cars from front to rear for the drive shaft.

White Side Wall Tires! ROFL

I remember when they first came out with the curved windows for the doors.

Damn I’m old. ROFLMHO

Looking at the car you posted @TripleHelix it has the attachment on the front bumper so when you park you won’t scrape the White Side Walls on the curb. LOL

We had one of these too while I was growing up. The Good Old Station Wagon. My parents would fill the back end with groceries for about $50.00. Now it would cost well over $300.00 + to fill the back end up.

Remember when your parents would pull into a gas station and the old car was a quart low on motor oil? The gas station had the motor oil in these glass refillable bottles with the spout. I remember it well. LOL

A huge pity we do not see them all around still instead of all the modern vehicles which are full of complicated electrics and computerised systems. Gone are the days you could drive into a village and get the local blacksmith to fix a new panel for you.

Gone are the days that gasoline was 19, 20, 21 cents a gallon as shown on these three gas pumps. Look at the top row of numbers for the Sale, only three digits. Only went to $9.99 before going back to $0.00. No Credit Card slots on the pumps either.

Don’t forget you listened to music on the old radio with No FM, ROFL:
