That's awesome, thanks again @TylerM

I once got a card with a check from a family member, then the check bounced.   I was around 12 so not great :).

Well done to the winners. I have a couple of pairs of these socks and seriously, I reckon they are the softest and most comfortable socks I own!

I have a pair that I've had for probably 5 years, green argyle with the webroot logo.  I have been known to hide my kids phone when he tries to steal them :).

Most of the gifts I received were nice. I do remember about 20 years ago when I was in my 50’s it happened on Christmas morning about 5 AM. I awoke out of a sound sleep with excruciating back pain. I went to the hospital emergency room at 9 AM because I couldn’t stand the pain anymore. I was diagnosed with passing kidney stones. They loaded me up with fluids. I spent Christmas Day in the hospital with an IV in me pumping me with fluids peeing in a calculi strainer to collect the stones for the doctor. This is the worse Christmas I can remember.

I guess you can call this a “Gift From Hell” (Kidney Stones) on Christmas Day. 😳

Ha ha! Yes, I have those socks too. Can understand you wanting to protect them!

I think for me the worst gifts are the practical gifts, I don't want something that I am going to buy for myself anyways, Examples include Underwear, cash, unless its a lot of it :), Car Parts, or anything that is needed to complete a house project. I like things I would not normally buy myself, something that you would just now I would want.

@ProTruckDriver setting the bar really high for worst Christmas gift ever! This doesn’t top kidney stones by a long shot, but it’s the only Christmas present I can think of I actually hated.

I was in 8th or 9th grade, some good awkward years of life. At this time my mom picked out most of my clothes because I was pretty clueless on how to dress myself. Matching colors is hard! (I’d like to say things have changed, but mostly the only difference is my wife picks out my clothes now.)

My mom liked buying clothes, so this worked out for her. It did not work out for me this Christmas when I pulled a sweater out of one of my gift boxes. It’s so terrible I can’t even find a picture of it on the internet. It’s wasn’t ugly in the way you think of an ugly Christmas sweater or a Bill Cosby sweater (I had plenty of the latter). It was a more understated ugly. Minimalist ugly, if you will.

It was a fuzzy, cream-colored sweater with a cream-on-slightly-darker-cream pattern, and a collar like you would see on a polo shirt. But the collar was not a solid color. It was rainbow stripes. Purple and yellow and blue, and maybe pink or red.

I think I surprised my mom by having an opinion on clothing. She was used to me blindly trusting her judgement. But she could tell right away that I didn’t like this one. I remember wearing it once or twice so not to hurt her feelings, but felt so uncomfortable and self-conscious when I did.

Finally, she offered to take it back to the store. I don’t remember what she exchanged it for. Probably nothing, or something for her. Or maybe a less-objectionable sweater.

I grew up obsessed with Star Wars like most kids my age, and had a particular fondness for R2-D2. My best and worst Christmas gift was one and the same. When I was about 8 year old, one Christmas my uncle bought me a VHS copy of RoboCop and he said ‘I got you this because I know that you like robots and stuff’. I was really looking forward to watching the movie, but my parents were not so keen!

Worst Gift?

Well, most embarrassing would be one I got last year from my own mother.
A T-shirt bought for me as a joke.

I didn't really find it funny, but since I now work from home I thought I might as well wear it round the house as no-one would see it.

That was until I was wearing it under a jumper and totally forgot when I took my jumper off to do a Teams video call with an important client.

There I am chatting away and trying to impress the client when they ask me what are the last few words on my T-shirt.

As you can see from the photo below, not really ideal for a meeting and there was me thinking “maybe they’ll find it funny”… No, they were not impressed and no-one even smiled…

Some people have no sense of humour!

🤦🏻‍♂️

Congrats to the winners.

The worst gift I received was from my beautiful wife. I think she was dropping hints to me when she did this.

She got me a vacuum. A vacuum. She used to complain that when I vacuumed the house, it wasn’t up to her standards, so she got me a vacuum. …………….

Just like Ralphie’s mother broke the leg lamp cause it was ugly, I somehow managed to “break” my vacuum 3months after Christmas.

ThInking I was in the clear, she went and sent it away for warranty repair.

The nightmare continues.

Thank you for the socks, they are fantastic to be honest even after being worn inside wellies multiple times.

The worst present I was given by FAR and before the requests come in to see me in it, there are no photos in existence of it. My sister bought me a VERY revealing MANKINI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is not me but from what I remember it was pretty much the same
