Origin of "Webroot"

Anyone here (most likely original WR peoples) know the origin of the name Webroot?

While this may seem a bit of a stretch, I always interpreted it as: "When you take the square ROOT of the World Wide WEB, you are left with the good parts of the Web, not the malware." 😉

Sure, I can answer that. The official origin:

ROOT in computer terms means the highest level you can achieve on a system.  The ROOT account name on UNIX systems allows the user complete control over the operating system.  So, WEBROOT means, the highest level you can achieve on the World Wide Web or Internet.

 Although I do like STV0726's definition! :D

Thanks STV0726 for asking and thanks Anna for clarifying. Nice to know what does it mean.
