Why is Webroot Web Shield suddenly blocking FastStone Capture?
Page 1 / 1
Hi WDH-MLH
Welcome to the Community Forums.
May I ask if the 'block' is occuring when you (i) try to download the FastStone Capture installer or (ii) when it is installed and you are trying to use the app? I am guessing it is (i) rather than (ii) but would like to make sure first.
A little more information would be useful for us to try tyo help out here.
Many thanks, Baldrick

It happens when I'm trying to use FastStone, the screen goes white.
Hi WDH-MLH
Sounds like the Identity Shield is kicking in and that all you need to do is either adjust the status of FastStone Capture under the Protected Applicaiton or add it with the correct level of access.
To do this click on the gear/cog to the right of the Identity Protection tab in the main WSA panel. In the new panel displayed click on the 'Application Protection' tab which will reveal a list of applications that may interact with your personal data. WSA automatically popoluated some common ones for you but scan down the list and see if you can find an entry for FastStone Capture.
If you do then check to the right of that line to see if the status is set to 'Allow', 'Protect' or 'Block'. If 'Block' then chenge to either 'Allow' or 'Protect' (I set all my screen capture apps to 'Protect') and then try using the app again.
If you do not find an entry already there for the app then click on the 'Add Application' button in the bottom right hand corner of the panel, navigate to the FastStone Capture insgallation folder, locate the main executable and click 'Open' to add it to the list...then set it's status to 'Protect' and then try the app again.
Hopefully, one of those changes should allow it to function as expected. If not then pelae come back here so that we can look into this further for you.

It happens only when I'm on Explorer or Google Chrome.
