Relation between Webroot and Best Buy.

I have run Webroot for many years and have a current subscription. I saw a possible indication of a virus on my desktop computer and went to support where I got redirected to the Best Buy Geek Squad and told that I was entitled to a free remote session to check out my computer.  I was then refused the free session because I hadn’t bought Webroot from Best Buy and they had no record of me subscribing to it.  Is this how it’s supposed to work?

Hello @fellowtraveler

That sounds odd but please contact Webroot Support at the Bottom of this page and yes Webroot is sold via Best Buy Geek Squad so ask Webroot support: https://www.webroot.com/us/en/support/support-home

https://www.webroot.com/us/en/support/contact

HTH,

HTH,

Thank you.  I found a phone number for direct (not Best Buy) Webroot support and was quickly put in touch with someone who accessed my computer and did find a suspicious connection program which he uninstalled so I feel more secure now.  Peace out.
