I’m using Win10 Home, just recently the Windows auto-update, since then I didn’t see the webroot mini icon on the toolbar, and I cannot run webroot either.

How can I know my computer is protected?

How can I run webroot?

I tried to reinstall but nothing happens

Is Webroot not compatible with the new Windows?

Hello @jerryjerry

Yes Webroot does work on all version of Windows so it would be best to Submit a Support Ticket to find out what happened.

Note: When submitting a Support Ticket, Please wait for a response from Support. Putting in another Support Ticket on this problem before Support responses will put your first Support Ticket at the end of the queue, it should be 24 to 48 hours but could take a little longer because of COVID 19.

Sorry as most if not all Webroot staff are working from home because of COVID 19.

Thanks for your understanding!

I already submitted the ticket two days ago with the same question.

I use my computer everyday, I need to know if webroot is running

Right now I don’t see the small webroot icon on the bottom toolbar, when I went to Task Manager, I also didn’t see webroot. I cannot left my pc unprotected.

I also tried uninstall/install and nothing happens.

All of this happens after my Windows auto-update

can you remote to my pc?

urgent !!!

Hi @jerryjerry

Have you tried to uninstall in Safe Mode with Networking?

You can try this to uninstall!

Please boot into Safe Mode with Networking and run this to Uninstall! https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode

"C:\Program Files\Webroot\WRSA.exe" -uninstall

Please follow the steps below closely in terms of installing WSA on the target system/machine!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • Be sure you have or add your Keycode to your Online Console: Webroot SecureAnywhere Online Console
  • KEEP the computer online during the install to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Geek Squad Subscription PC users click HERE). Let us know if it is the Mac version you need
  • Install with the new installer, entering your Keycode when prompted to do so in the install process
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot

Please let us know the outcome!

Thanks,

I tried to uninstall, through the commandline or Control Panel, got the message: It is necessary to login as administrator to access this feature.

But I already administrator.

I tried over and over to boot with Safe Mode with no luck, I restarted my computer and hold F8 from the start, the Windows keeps starting normally, cannot go into the Safe Mode.

Tried to reinstall, nothing happens.

What’s going on with webroot?

Hello @jerryjerry

With Windows 10 F8 does not work, you have to do it this way:

From Settings.

  1. Press Windows logo key  + I on your keyboard to open Settings. If that doesn't work, select the Start  button, then select Settings .
  2. Select Update & Security  > Recovery .
    Open Recovery Settings
  3. Under Advanced startup, select Restart now.
  4. After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.

Choose an option screen in the Windows Recovery Environment.

Troubleshoot screen in the Windows Recovery Environment.

Advanced options screen in the Windows Recovery Environment.

Startup Settings screen in the Windows Recovery Environment.

  5. After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 4 or press F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode. Or if you'll need to use the Internet, select 5 or press F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.

I went through all the steps and was able to login in as Safe Mode with Network.

However when I tried to uninstall webroot, same thing happened, I got the message: It is necessary to login as administrator to access this feature.

I have tried it through commandline and Control Panel: Add or Remove Programs.

So I was unable to uninstall webroot.

unable to install webroot.

Don’t know if webroot is running.

Don’t know if my computer is protected

Hi Jerry Open Task Manager and look for Webroot processes.

Right Click on a empty space in the TaskBar and click on Task Manager and you should see 2 or 4 Webroot Processes?

Click on Pictures to see full size.

So sorry Jerry there is nothing I can do more. Just wait for a reply from Webroot Support.

Sorry as most if not all Webroot staff are working from home because of COVID 19.

Thanks for your understanding and sorry once again.

I run Task Manager
at the Background processes I saw:
Webroot SecureAnywhere
Webroot SecureAnywhere (32 bit)
Webroot SecureAnywhere Core Service

at the Startup, I saw
Webroot SecureAnywhere

at the Services, I don't see Webroot, may be under different name.

The main protection Services would be WRSVC and 3 services in total.

Yes I saw those three in Services

But you have issues but only support can help you.

As long as I know my computer is still protected, I’m okay

Can you open the UI from the Start Menu?

I click on it but nothing happens.

Also I don’t see the mini icon on the bottom toolbar.

This happens after my Windows auto-update.

I have been subscribed to webroot for year, never happens before.

I’m using Win10 Home.

Just wait for support to help you.

Sorry again for having issues with Webroot.
