Did you have any software on your computer that allows for machine tracking? Was this a PC or a mac? Mac computers have a built in “find my computer” functionality that would help in this case. PC’s generally do not have any built-in functionality for tracking a stolen computer.
Your best bet is likely to make a police report and provide them with the serial number of your computer. They handle these sorts of complaints all the time and actively search craigslist/ebay ads for stolen computers to track down theft.
