Just received about forty e-mails (AOL) saying "undelivered mail - return to sender. Also received phone calls from friends saying they received suspicioous e-mails from me. Have I been compromised? Can I log into Bank Accounts, etc?
Hello there, welcome to the Community,

Chance are you computer is not compromised, though I would run a scan with WSA and possible consider submitting a Trouble Ticket just to be certain.

Most of the time when this happens while your computer is not compromised, your AOL email account HAS been.  Someone has the login credentials of your email and is using it.

So.. steps to take:

  • Change the password to AOL ASAP, and any Security Questions you may have.
  • ANY accounts, banks, online shopping, EVERYTHING that uses your AOL email address needs to also have all passwords and security questions changed ASAP
  • Continue to monitor your email carefully for any sign that any of the accounts have been accessed or the password changed.
  • You might consider contacting AOL for and assistance or advice they can provide regarding this as well.
