Hello mrscountry,
Once Webroot is installed ..you can set it and forget about it
Instead of me saying anything it's best to read it for yourself what the potential Webroot has.: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/Scanning-PC-suspiciously-fast/m-p/... also the Webroot WIN Cloud does all the work not your PC: http://www.brightcloud.com/platform/webroot-intelligence-network.php
Please go here to the User Guide and this will show you how to open the GUI of Webroot on your desktop by opening My Account.
If you look to the left of the screen it will tell you how many days are left.
I have provided hoe to do this below.

Thank you Sherry!
I have been reading a lot.
One other thing, if I am not on line and get a malware how does it get taken care of?
thanks LOL

Yes you are protected offline because Webroot won't allow Malware to run on your Computer, EDIT: Webroots Firewall and Windows Firewall also protect from inbound and outbound connections. Here's the Firewall in the User Guide
If you want to watch some videos of Webroot ..Please go here to Bright Talk

This video is really great about how Wewbroot protects from Ransomeware.

Hi mrscountry
If I may add to what Sherry has advised about offline protection?
Part of WSA's protection armoury is, on top of the whitelist (or list of good apps/files) held in the Cloud, (i) the use of heuristics or analysis of & reaction to the behaviour of files/apps; which is stepped up a notch or two when WSA runs in offline mod & (ii) a set of special signatures that it uses instead of reference to the Cloud whitelist, again only when not connected to the internet.
For more information on the above please see this KB article.
Hope that helps?
Regards, Baldrick
