Lenovo just issued a recall for some laptop batteries.  You can check model numbers here:

fortunately this affects computers shipped 2010-2011, so none of my lenovos are impacted 😃

Although on the plus side, if you had some laptops from then they'd be getting brand new batteries for free 🙂

yea, but I have much better things to be doing than hunting down LTs to RMA their batteries, so free new batteries or not still glad I don't have to deal w it 😛

That's true - would probably cost more in hassle and time than what it is worth.

lol yea fixing pretty much anything these days costs more than just replacing the thing... Actually fixed a hardware issue on a desktop for the 1st time in like a year, cost $50 more to fix it (parts + labor) than it would have cost to get a same spec refurbished pc. Was a good reminder why I don't bother usually on old/low cost stuff.
