The issue is convincing employees that they can ask and you will say yes. They are used to being told no.

Agreed - there is a lot of unlearning to do if your users have had experience with draconian IT departments.

I got HR to put language in that circumventing or attempting to circumvent IT controls is a fireable offense, so I'm safe to keep saying no 😃
