Webroot for business Web shield

Dear,
 
In the console of webroot for business there is an option to activate the web shield.
Can somebody explain me how this is working?
 
Will there be an addon installed in the browser? Is there any check on a search or website you try to access?

When using the business version of Webroot SecureAnywhere, you will not actually see the icons in the search listings - you will only see the notification if you attempt to go to a site that has been flagged as potentially malicious.
