I have a credit card that I only use for online purchases; only on my home wi-fi. Someone hacked into it and, fortunately, the credit card company alerted me and protected my account. Aren’t I supposed to get some sort of alert from webroot?

Hello
No alert from Webroot because how would Webroot know? But Webroot does have an ID Shield and only if it’s setup properly on supported browsers. https://docs.webroot.com/us/en/home/wsa_pc_userguide/wsa_pc_userguide.htm#UsingIdentityProtection/UsingIdentityProtection.htm
- Protect — Protected applications are secured against information-stealing malware, but also have full access to data on the system. You might want to add financial management software to the category. When you run a protected application, the Webroot icon in the system tray displays a padlock:
Google Chrome® 11 and newer
Internet Explorer® version 11 and newer (Windows XP IE8)
Microsoft Edge® (partial support)
Mozilla® Firefox® version 3.6 and newer
Safari 5 and newer
Opera 11 and newer

Are you sure you didn’t go to a Phishing site?
